Perched atop 37 mountaintop acres just outside Chattanooga in Trenton, Ga., The Glamping Collective reimagines what it means to escape. Here, stunning natural landscapes, striking design and thoughtful hospitality create an experience that feels both adventurous and effortlessly comfortable.
For co-founders Matt and Christina Bare, the concept bloomed more than a decade ago during a trip to Costa Rica. Inspired by the country’s wild beauty and the way people value nature, they envisioned a place where guests could immerse themselves in some of the United States’ most striking environments without sacrificing comfort or modern amenities. After years helping other boutique hospitality brands grow, the couple brought that vision to life with The Glamping Collective, first near Asheville and, this spring, in Chattanooga. Their goal was simple: create a destination to slow down and connect, where the accommodations are as memorable as the surroundings.
Every detail of the Chattanooga property was designed to blur the line between indoors and out. Luxury domes feature sleek, natural-toned interiors and expansive window walls framing sweeping mountain views, while private decks invite guests to linger over coffee, unwind in a hot tub or gather around a fire table beneath the stars. Blackout curtains, king beds and luxe sheets ensure a rejuvenating sleep. Ultra Luxe Domes sit cliffside, offering expanded outdoor living space and uninterrupted vistas. Each accommodation also includes a thoughtfully equipped kitchenette with a fridge, countertop oven, Keurig, double burner plate, dinnerware, pots, pans and more.
Beyond the domes, the retreat encourages guests to embrace the outdoors. Hiking trails wind across the mountaintop, community fire pits invite conversation and the heated and chilled cliff-edge infinity pool, complete with a swim-behind 25-foot waterfall, offers one of the region’s most unforgettable places to take in the scenery. Every space encourages guests to disconnect from routine and reconnect with one another.
Though it feels worlds away from everyday life, it’s only a short drive from celebrated outdoor destinations. Those eager to explore will find Cloudland Canyon, Lookout Mountain, Rock City, McLemore Golf Resort and countless hiking, biking and waterfall adventures all within about 30 minutes. Yet many guests discover the greatest luxury is having nowhere else they need to be.
Whether planning an adventure with friends or family, a romantic getaway or simply looking to unplug, The Glamping Collective offers more than a place to stay. It creates space to reconnect, recharge and experience the mountains in a way that feels both refined and approachable.
