Welcome to The G.O.A.T! This Sport Bar features a variety of cocktails, delicious food, and great atmosphere. Matt Larson, co-owner of Kenny’s Steakhouse, worked together with his son Alex to bring Greeley a local restaurant with a big city feel. “There needed to be something like this for a growing community like Greeley,” Matt said. “You’d have to travel to Denver or another state to find a place like this.” This restaurant is a perfect spot to bring the family and enjoy a game on one of their big screens, which are viewable from any seat in the house. Their unique 360-degree bar allows for easy ordering and great conversation.
There is nothing like enjoying a burger with friends while surrounded by original artwork, great music, and great drinks. Their gourmet burgers are delicious and won’t leave you with a greasy feeling like most bar food does. And if you’re looking for something a bit healthier, no worries, this restaurant has plenty of salads and gluten free options to choose from. However, their most popular food choice, is their Beer Cheese, made with Breckenridge Avalanche Amber Ale. Pair that with their specialty cocktail, the Prickly Pear, for a sweet desert flower taste. They have 20 beers on tap, and if that’s not enough, you can get red or white wine, locally sourced from Carboy, Littleton.
Walking through the doors is like being welcomed into the family. Each member of the Larson household is a key element to their business, making this bar a true Greeley native. While Alex was living in San Diego, he was studying the restaurant business to help his father build his dream of opening up their own sports bar. When he came back, he had great ideas for creating a classy restaurant with great food that also serves as a social hub for all demographics. Customers who love Kenny’s Steakhouse, their sister restaurant, are guaranteed the same great quality and trust at The G.O.A.T.
The most unique part of this restaurant is the ambiance. The original artwork on the walls were all made specifically for the restaurant by two local artists. If you love sports, you will love all the murals dedicated to famous athletes on the walls. Make sure to look at the back right corner behind the bar to find their newest painting addition, featuring Mahammad Ali and Michael Jordan. The bright paintings are contrasted with the dark wood that comes directly from the Larson family farm. Every detail incorporated in opening The G.O.A.T was carefully chosen to give this bar a friendly environment with a metropolitan atmosphere. The garage doors open in the summer to reveal a pet friendly patio. This patio features three TV’s, a fireplace, and an outdoor bar, perfect for those warm nights here in Colorado.
This sports bar is unlike anything else in Greeley. Even on opening day they had people eagerly waiting for the doors to open. So make sure to get your name on the list! Eating here doesn’t just mean great food and sports games, however. It’s a way of giving back to the community and supporting a hardworking local family.
