Leslie Barrows, Barrows Firm
Can you briefly describe your business and the services or products you offer?
Southlake Family and Estate Planning law firm.
What inspired you to start your business, and what fuels your passion for it every day?
I am inspired by helping people during challenging times. Every day I learn something new. No day is the same.
Tell us about being a mom and running your business.
I work down the street from the high school and continue to be involved in the community and the school district. Our oldest son is a senior and graduating from boarding school this month. I travel to see him monthly and I am active in the parent's organization at his boarding school. I make sure to calendar my work and personal events so I can still work from the road if I must.
What is something unique or special about the service you provide that sets your business apart?
I live and work in our community. We provide excellent customer service in a confidential setting.
As a mom and a successful business owner, how do you find balance between your family life and professional responsibilities?
I love volunteering, listening to music, attending live music events and hanging out in our backyard with my husband and three sons and two dogs.
What legacy or impact do you hope to leave through your business for your family?
I hope to continue to empower people as they are all worthy of a fresh start.
Dr. Angela Bowers, Southlake Dermatology
At Southlake Dermatology, we offer a broad array of dermatology services, including medical, aesthetic, and surgical options. We have been in business since 1999 and have six total providers to help ensure timely appointments and offer the latest technological advances in skin care.
We started out in 1999 in Southlake Town Square with just Dr. Bowers and two employees. Over the years, we have grown alongside the growth of Southlake, now operating in the Southlake Methodist office building.
I love the patients that we see and the ability to help the self-esteem of so many teenagers and young people when skin disease affects their visible body parts. As a mother of two boys, I now have an empty nest, but it was a bit crazy at times trying to keep all the balls in the air. I give all my success to my staff, who are amazing and love people and helping others. It truly does take a village!
We strive here at Southlake Dermatology to have a service-oriented practice and are always learning from our patients to constantly improve. As a dermatologist, we do get called on the weekends, and it can be a challenge to balance family life with our responsibilities as
physicians. However, when you love what you do, you find a way to make all the puzzle pieces fit.
Our mission at Southlake Dermatology is to leave a legacy of patient experiences where they feel cared for and achieve great results in treating their skin conditions. Over the years, we have given generously through charitable donations-both monetarily and by donating various procedures and skincare products. In addition, we have supported many of the surrounding school districts.
Both of my sons have witnessed the impact of giving to others through the blessings of this practice; this has been one of the most fulfilling parts of my journey. The relationships I have built over the years with patients and staff is also one of the most rewarding parts of being a physician. I have learned so much from them!
Shelly Claffey, Claffey Pools
Can you briefly describe your business and the services or products you offer?
Claffey Pools is a family-owned pool builder specializing in custom pool design, construction, renovations, service, and weekly maintenance. We've been creating outdoor living spaces since 1987, turning backyards into places where families make lifelong memories. Our goal is to bring both beauty and functionality to every project, ensuring our clients enjoy their pools for generations.
What inspired you to start your business, and what fuels your passion for it every day
Claffey Pools was founded by my father and built on the foundation of family. Growing up in this industry, I learned early on that pools aren't just about construction-they're about the moments they create. Watching families gather, children take their first swim, and generations share the same backyard, brings so much meaning to what we do. When my brothers, Charlie and Brian, and I took over, we carried forward the belief that it's not just about building pools; it's about creating spaces where people come together. That passion continues to inspire me every day.
Tell us about being a mom and running your business.
When Ashley was little, I had to learn to balance being a mom and growing the business. There were days when she'd be in the office doing homework while I worked on designs or took client calls. Now, with grandkids-and one more on the way!-I see how special it is to have a business that's truly family-driven. They get to witness hard work, creativity, and the joy that comes from bringing dreams to life.
What is something unique or special about the service you provide that sets your business apart?
What makes Claffey Pools special is our deep-rooted commitment to quality and personal relationships. We aren't just building pools; we're building trust with families. Many of our clients come back to us years later for renovations or new pools when they move, or they refer their children to us when they get their own homes. That kind of connection is something you can't manufacture-it comes from genuinely caring about the people we work with.
As a mom and a successful business owner, how do you find balance between your family life and professional responsibilities?
Balance comes from setting boundaries and being present where you are. When Ashley was young, I had to learn to prioritize-when I was working I gave it my full attention, and when I was home I focused on being a mom. Now, I try to do the same with my grandkids. There's always work to be done, but making time for family is just as important.
What legacy or impact do you hope to leave through your business for your family?
I hope that Claffey Pools continues to stand for quality, integrity, and family values. Whether it's my daughter, my grandkids, or our incredible team, I want them to see that success isn't just about what you build-it's about how you treat people along the way. If we can continue to create beautiful spaces while making a positive impact on the families we serve, then that's a legacy worth leaving.
Lindsey Han, Texas Blonde Society
Step inside Texas Blonde Society, and you're immediately met with more than just the scent of high-end hair products and the soft buzz of blow dryers-you feel it. That warm, electric energy that says you belong here. At the heart of it all is Lindsey Han: award-winning stylist, salon owner, mother of three, Girl Scout leader, and proud born-and-raised Texan with a heart bigger than her 3,000 square foot salon.
"I always say we're more than a salon-we're a safe haven," Lindsey shares, her voice equal parts confidence and kindness. "Our mission is to create a space where women can walk in, feel seen, and leave feeling like the absolute best version of themselves."
Texas Blonde Society isn't your average beauty spot. Think: elevated Fort Worth luxury, on-trend custom color, high-quality extensions, and a team trained to deliver not just a service-but an experience. The salon has won awards for its innovation and excellence, but what makes it truly shine is its soul.
And that soul? That's Lindsey.
Between client appointments, she's cheering on her kids-Harvey, Oliver, and Madalyn-at Basketball games, band concerts, and Girl Scout troop meetings. "We're a big, blended family, and it just works," she laughs. "We show up for each other. That's what family's about."
That sense of community is woven into every inch of her business. Lindsey doesn't just style hair-she builds relationships. "I can't tell you how many times I've sat behind the chair and had the most honest, beautiful conversations with my clients. We cry, we laugh, we give advice. It's like therapy-with highlights."
In a world that often feels divided, Lindsey is proving that women supporting women still matters. "I've been given advice in this salon that changed the course of my life," she says. "If we can lift each other up, love each other, and make things better for the next woman in line-we're doing something right."
She may be transforming blondes, but Lindsey Han's real superpower? Building something bigger than beauty.

Lucy Noonan, George and Noonan Real Estate Group
Can you briefly describe your business and the services or products you offer?
At the George & Noonan Group, we specialize in luxury residential real estate. Our boutique firm provides personalized services for buying, selling, and investing in high-end properties, ensuring that every client receives a truly tailored experience.
What inspired you to start your business, and what fuels your passion for it every day?
After years as an executive at a Fortune 100 company-and moving eight times during my career-I had a front-row seat to the challenges of buying and selling a home. I noticed the process could be so much smoother and more personal. Leaving the corporate world gave me the chance to combine my passion for business and people with a mission to improve the real estate experience for everyone.
Tell us about being a mom and running your business.
Being a mom while running a successful business has been both challenging and incredibly rewarding. Now that my son Demetri has joined our group, our shared journey has become even more meaningful-combining family bonds with our professional drive makes every success sweeter.
What is something unique or special about the service you provide that sets your business apart?
Our approach is all about a customized strategy that truly reflects the unique needs of each client. As a mom, I understand that every detail matters, and that personal care goes a long way. We blend deep market expertise with genuine support, helping sellers strategically position their homes while offering expert consultation to secure the highest possible offer.
For home buyers, navigating the home buying process can be overwhelming, but with us, you'll have a trusted guide every step of the way. From connecting you with reputable lenders, negotiating the best price and terms, coordinating with inspectors, negotiating repairs and celebrating at the closing table.
As a mom and a successful business owner, how do you find balance between your family life and professional responsibilities?
I'll be honest, when you're obsessed with client satisfaction and love your profession, it can be hard. Since typically our client's largest investment whether buying or selling is their home - they need special time and attention. The luxury of the George & Noonan Group is that we have the ability to leverage the skills of each team member to ensure that our client's needs are met.
What legacy or impact do you hope to leave through your business for your family?
For us, it's not just about the legacy we leave behind, it's about the exceptional experiences we provide for our clients today. That experience is why so many of our clients from over 20 years ago still connect with us to help them buy or sell again. We're proud to say that more than 80% of our clients come from the heartfelt recommendations of previous customers which has resulted in over $2 Billion in Real Estate Sales. We are beyond grateful, every day that we have the opportunity to serve our clients - many of whom have become lifelong friends.
Susan Semmelmann, Semmelmann Interiors
Can you briefly describe your business and the services or products you offer?
My business, Semmelmann Interiors, is a full-service couture interior design firm specializing in everything from construction detailing and architectural design to custom furnishings and decor.
At the core of our work is the belief that home is a sanctuary, so we curate every detail to foster connection, comfort, and a sense of belonging-using each space to reflect our clients' unique stories. Our signature aesthetic, Organic Glamour, merges ethereality with innovation to make a bold statement.
What inspired you to start your business, and what fuels your passion for it every day?
When my husband battled a rare form of bone cancer, the odds were against him-but by God's divine grace, he survived. That experience changed everything. We had been given a second chance, and I knew I had to do something meaningful with it. A few years later, as my children prepared to leave home, I sat at a table with other moms facing the same transition. Many felt lost, unsure of what came next. But I didn't see it as an ending-I saw it as the beginning. With nearly two decades in the design industry, I realized my calling wasn't just to create beautiful spaces, but to serve others through design. That's why I started Semmelmann Interiors. Faith is the foundation of everything we do, and giving is our response to the blessings we've received. Every day, I wake up knowing our work isn't just about interiors-it's about creating homes that bring people together, reflect their stories, and inspire each of us to live life on purpose.
Tell us about being a mom and running your business.
Motherhood has shaped the way I run my business in every possible way. The same heart that goes into raising a family goes into leading a team, serving clients, and creating spaces that bring people together. I see both as an extension of the same calling-building something meaningful, something lasting, something that nurtures.
My kids have watched me pour myself into this work, and in doing so, I hope they've learned that success isn't just about what you accomplish, but how you use your gifts to impact others. At the end of the day, whether at home or in business, my goal is the same: to create a legacy of faith, generosity, and purpose.
What is something unique or special about the service you provide that sets your business apart?
We don't just design homes-we create experiences that match the lifestyle you've built. For those who live boldly, dream big, and say yes to the best, your home should be a seamless extension of that. Every detail is intentional, every space tells a story, and every project is an opportunity to elevate the way you live.
With in-house artisans crafting custom pieces and a concierge-level process designed for effortless luxury, we take care of everything-so you can focus on enjoying it. From grand entertaining spaces to intimate retreats, we design homes that are not just beautiful but are a reflection of your success, your story, and the life you were meant to live.
As a mom and a successful business owner, how do you find balance between your family life and professional responsibilities?
I believe you can do it all-not because it's easy, but because with God's provision, we are given exactly what we need. For me, that means enough time to invest in my family, enough energy to pour into my work, and enough grace to wake up every day ready to build His kingdom. It's not about choosing between family and career-it's about showing up fully in both. My kids see me working hard, leading with integrity, and creating something bigger than myself, and I hope that empowers them to chase their own callings with the same faith and determination.
"From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded." (Luke 12:48) I know I have been entrusted with something greater than myself, and because of that, I don't hold back. I give everything I am and everything I have-because I understand what a gift it is to steward both my children and my business with purpose and gratitude.
What legacy or impact do you hope to leave through your business for your family?
I want my children to understand that success isn't measured by what you have, but by what you pour into the lives of others. My hope is that they see a legacy built not just on beautiful spaces, but on faith, generosity, and the unwavering belief that our gifts are meant to be shared. I want them to know that life isn't about waiting for the perfect moment-it's about stepping forward in faith, embracing the unknown, and trusting that what we build with purpose will always outlast us.
If they take anything from my journey, I hope it's the confidence to lead with integrity, the heart to serve without hesitation, and the wisdom to know that the greatest rewards in life come from giving, not getting.
