The Real Estate Market is RED HOT

Pointers for buying and selling your home today

What should home buyers know about today’s market?

Today’s market is moving fast. Mid-range properties are getting multiple offers, and some are selling even before they’ve come on the market. The first thing a home buyer should do is find an agent, develop the relationship and allow them to guide you over the hurdles.

What should sellers do to prepare their home for the market?

Price it right. Most homeowners think their homes are worth more than they are. Allow the market to drive up the price, and then the agent won’t have to go back in a few weeks to have the conversation about reducing the price.

Update your home throughout the years. Don’t wait until you are going to sell and do all the upgrades. Do them so that you, too, will have the pleasure of enjoying it.

Clear it out. You will have to box it up anyway. Have your home staged or work with a realtor who does. I offer staging as a tool in my arsenal to sell your home. Pair down the clothing in the closets and pack personal photos and mementos. You want your home to be as neutral as possible so that potential buyers can visualize themselves living there.
