The Men of Argyle Community Church

Building community for the men in Argyle, Texas.

Argyle Community Church has been a place for its surrounding community to gather for many years now. As you can probably tell, community is the big word at this church. Argyle Community Church offers many different ways for its members to connect with each other and with their faith. One way this happens is through the monthly men's gathering, F3. F3 stands for faith, fellowship, and fellas. This gathering occurs monthly, and it is a way for the men in the church to come together for fellowship and to have a good time!

It can be difficult to find a good community to immerse yourself in, this is why F3 is such a great opportunity for those who are looking to create more meaningful friendships with like-minded people. “I was invited to an Indian food spot, and of course, I was game. I love food! But when I got there and saw all the brothers and the fellowship, I was truly intrigued,” says Louis “Bubba” Thomas. F3 is initially enticing because of the people and the great food, however, what gets people to stay is the fellowship and the desire to connect with others through the church.

Argyle Community Church has lots of different ways for F3 and its other members to bond, such as sports, camps, and a weekly church service where you get to see many of the same faces every Sunday. F3 is great for people of all ages, as the members range from teenagers to adults; this creates an opportunity for everyone to learn from each other as everyone is in a different walk of life. One story that stood out to me was from a member, Jimmy Dejewski. Jimmy Dejewski shared a story about his 10 year old son who was gaining new friends through his Sunday school at church and his school in Argyle, Texas. After some time Jimmy and his family decided it was time to find a church to attend locally and that drove them to Argyle Community Church! When stepping into ACC, Jimmy’s son immediately recognized several of his friends and peers and this church quickly became a second home for this family.

The F3 group builds a community for men that allows them to grow with one another and offer each other support in times of need. “Brotherhood is being a part of the family of Christ because of our allegiance to Jesus. We must display brotherhood first. Then encouraging men to walk with God, listening to them and asking them questions, and walking alongside them as they seek to abide in Jesus,” says Chay’vion Carter. Giving each other an outlet to share opportunities and struggles they may be going through creates an unbreakable bond between the members as they help each other navigate through this life we have been gifted.

Having a strong sense of community creates a positive impact on individuals lives, F3 knows the importance of this and does an amazing job of cultivating a safe, welcoming, and fun environment for anyone who feels called to join. “The World gives this idea of “being a man” is an independent journey and the strongest men can do it on their own. We disagree. Men are better off with each other. Being a husband, a father, an uncle, a son, a boss, and employee – these roles are tough. We believe coming together to love, encourage, and sharpen each other makes us stronger. This type of unity is exactly what God designed. So, we encourage any man in this community that feels alone to reach out – you matter, you are loved, you belong, and we want to walk this life out with you in a real way.”

"When you get there and see that every man there truly wants the same thing as you
which is community. It’s not a feeling, it’s reality. These guys just want to be served and be of service. No big “I”’s and little “U”’s. Just letting each other know that we’re not alone on this journey."
