The anti-aging treatment, PRP Microneedling, is being heralded as a less invasive alternative to Botox, fillers and lasers. Naturopathic Physician, Dr. Rahda Sinha, runs her practice out of Kirkland and claims “Microneedling is the BEST natural and healthy treatment that helps to rejuvenate your skin. Fillers and Botox temporarily eliminate fine lines and wrinkles while PRP gives your body growth factors that it needs to rejuvenate itself over time. There are no side effects, no toxins utilized, and is safe for all skin types and ages.”
Dr. Sinha specializes in balancing hormones for men and women, anti-aging, skin rejuvenation, complex chronic diseases, and autoimmune diseases. PRP Mirconeedling is one of the sought after services Dr. Sinha offers, and Kirkland Lifestyle asked her to explain exactly what PRP Microneedling is and how indulging in a treatment can benefit your skin.
What is a PRP Microneedling?
Platelet rich plasma (PRP) is the concentrate that is separated from whole blood and circulate throughout the body. This is produced by the body to aid in tissue healing and stimulate new cells to grow resulting in a perfect natural anti-aging solution. They contain growth factors that help to accelerate healing when introduced with micro trauma or injections.
Microneedling is way to deliver PRP deeper in the skin for better anti-aging results. The device I use is called, SkinPen, which is the first FDA device on the market. It creates thousands of microchannels that stimulate the body’s natural wound healing process but does not cause cellular damage. The results with PRP help to remodel the skin from scars and wrinkles and stimulate collagen from within.
PRP microneedling treatments clinically improve appearance of wrinkles on the face and neck, scaring, reduces pore size, tightens the skin, and brings back your youthful glow!
How soon can one see results?
Results such as tightening and a youthful glow are immediate, whereas the reductions of wrinkles take 3-6 weeks and several treatments as the body and PRP undergoes the natural healing and growth cycles. Treatment for all ages requires 3-4 sessions, 4-6 weeks apart to see significant results. Number of treatments is also dependent on age and condition of the skin and body. Depending on the age of the person, the follow up treatments vary between once a quarter to every 2 months.
How can a client enhance this treatment?
One of the factors that makes my practice and the PRP treatment process unique is that I look at the person holistically. I help their organ systems of the body work better and help with detoxification so their PRP serum contains more of the growth factors we need to get better results. I put people on targeted supplements internally, sometimes peptides therapy, and recommend vitamin C, stem cells serums, clinical grade hyaluronic acid, and peptides topically to enhance the treatment and produce better results for the skin.
What should a new client expect when experiencing a treatment?
When a client comes in, we numb the skin with a non-toxic numbing cream to help with any pain. One of the trained medical staff draws blood. The blood then gets put into a specialized centrifuge to extract the platelet rich plasma (PRP). I then use the microneedling device to treat the face and neck with PRP. If desired, we can enhance the PRP treatment with European skin remedies and hyaluronic acid. In addition, I inject areas that have deeper scars or wrinkles with PRP if needed. The entire process takes 60-90 minutes.
