The Perfect Pair

Find the perfect pairing at Houston area restaurants just in time for Valentine's Day.

Numero28 Highland Village

An Authentic Taste of Italy

The cozy Italian restaurant opened in September and has already made a name for itself because of its relaxed yet elevated atmosphere and delicious food. Large portions of handmade pasta, hand-tossed pizza, salads, and tasty appetizers – all with the flavors of the old country -- have Houstonians eager to get a taste.

Cacio e Pepe + Basil Martini

The Cacio e Pepe is a signature dish at Numero28 Highland Village. Homemade Spaghetti alla Chitarra tossed and served tableside in a pecorino cheese wheel with freshly cracked black pepper and a touch of butter. The dish is as much about a beautiful tableside performance as it is about its delicious flavors. Numerso28's signature dish pairs perfectly with their Basil Martini. The drink is light and refreshing and made with Tito's Handmade Vodka, freshly squeezed lime juice, and muddled fresh basil.

Yi Peng Thai Kitchen

A Taste of Northern Thailand in Houston

Yi Peng Thai Dining brought the delicious flavors of northern Thailand to CityCentre. The restaurant is named after the famous full moon lantern festival in the Northern capital of Chiang Mai each year. Husband and wife duo Jett and Jira Hurapan are the restaurant owners and chefs; each brings a wealth of knowledge and culinary experience to their restaurant. Guests can enjoy indoor or outdoor dining or take advantage of the exclusive 8-seat chef's table for special occasions.

Massaman or Pad Ga Pow + red wine

Massaman Gai is traditional massaman curry chicken with braised potato, roasted peanut & cucumber relish. Pad Ga Pow is made with protein (chicken, beef, shrimp, or tofu) over a high-flame wok with spicy Thai chili and basil. The flavors of these popular dishes pair nicely with red wine.

Hull & Oak Southern Kitchen

A Texas-Inspired Experience

Hull & Oak Southern Kitchen, housed in the heart of Houston in downtown's newest hotel, the Laura Hotel, Autograph Collection, recently added new seasonal dishes and drinks to the dinner menu for the fall and winter months. Chef John Nguyen's menu offers a modern take on southern-inspired and Texas-traditional dishes carefully crafted from locally sourced, seasonal ingredients to provide an authentic Lone Star experience. The light-filled restaurant offers a great escape from the hustle and bustle of downtown and serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, and Sunday Brunch.

Country Fried Chicken for Two + Sticky Bun Parfait

Everything's bigger in Texas, including the Country Fried Chicken for Two, served with biscuits, pickled peppers, home-style mashed potatoes & gravy, and bacon-braised collard greens. Diners can't go wrong with pairing the spicy dish with a birthday cake-inspired Sticky Bun Parfait, complete with rainbow sprinkles.
