Wellness trends come and go, but lymphatic treatments are proving to be far more than a passing fad. By activating the body’s natural drainage system, these treatments reduce inflammation, support immunity, and promote a glow that starts from the inside out. Whether you’re looking to enhance your wellness routine, recover after travel, or simply give your body a much-needed reset, give lymphatic treatments a try.

We spoke with Healthcare Optimization Expert Rachel Boryachinskiy at The Tox Nashville about redefining what it means to care for your body.

For readers who may be new to the concept, how would you describe lymphatic drainage?

Our patented technique activates the lymphatic and digestive systems to rid the body of lymph fluid that causes bloating, swelling, and a number of other issues. The treatment is a safe, non-invasive way to help lean, sculpt, and improve your overall look and feel.

What are some of the most common benefits clients experience after a lymphatic treatment?

Clients usually feel lighter and leaner after each session, which is the instant benefit. There are so many long-term benefits from lymphatic treatment including improved health, strengthened immune function, decreased fluid/swelling, less puffiness, glowing skin, weight loss, and hormone-balancing. It also helps with post-surgery recovery. There are a number of conditions that benefit from lymphatic and digestive treatment, too.

How does stress affect the lymphatic system?

Stress contributes to bloating, swelling, increased cortisol levels, fatigue, sluggishness, and even decreased immune function. Most of the fluid/swelling from stress is held by the lymphatic system with lymph nodes all throughout your body.

Is there an ideal candidate for lymphatic treatment?

Our clients are men and women at least 18 years old. Our clients range from 25-60 by age. An ideal candidate would be someone who feels sluggish, puffy face in the morning, bloating, fatigue, or feeling stuck.

If someone has never tried lymphatic drainage before, what should they expect during their first session?

New clients can expect a luxury spa experience with highly trained technicians that utilize our patented technique to help sculpt, lean, and improve our client's health. The technique should not be painful, but can be a little intense. It's definitely a fabulous session.

How quickly do most people notice results, and how long do those results typically last?

Clients usually instantly feel lighter and more energized right after their session. For their initial treatment, benefits last anywhere from 1-3 weeks. Results do vary by client. To achieve optimal results, we recommend coming in every 2-3 weeks for the initial 3-5 sessions. Once the lymphatic system starts retaining less fluid, clients experience benefits for longer and longer from their session. It does take a couple of sessions to achieve longer-term results.

Lymphatic health is a growing trend in beauty and wellness. Why do you think it’s gaining so much popularity now?

This is really only my opinion, but I believe we are unaware of how much the lymphatic and digestive systems control our overall health and wellness. It's also not very sexy to talk about the lymphatic system. However, with the growing focus on holistic health, the lymphatic system has really come into the forefront. To really activate and improve the function of your lymphatic system, The Tox Technique is the very best. I believe this will continue to become more popular.

Are there specific lifestyle tips such as hydration, diet, or movement that you recommend to maximize results between sessions?

Yes, we recommend light exercise, sauna, steam, and moving around. The lymphatic system will continue to remove excess fluid 24-72 hours after a session. It is important to stay hydrated, add electrolytes when needed, and eat cleanly to help maximize results. We provide a recommendation in our post-session follow-ups.
