Kathy Berry and Jane Dungan have known each other since their children were in middle school at Battle Ground Academy. They started working together at The Registry, a bridal registry and fine gifts store begun by two of their good friends in 2003. It was the perfect fit. Both ladies like helping others and love entertaining friends and family. When the store was ready to be sold, Jane and Kathy were there for support and to continue the tradition of The Registry, so they decided to buy it in 2014. After all, they'd known the previous owners for years. Their children also went to BGA, so they'd all worked on fundraisers together, watched sports together and watched them all grow up together. Purchasing the store was a natural next step for them.

They wanted to keep the vibrant store alive. They also wanted to provide a place for everyone to feel at home, a casual atmosphere for the shopper to pick out just the right gifts for their friends. All the ladies who work at The Registry, many who have been there since the beginning, also wanted to continue to offer wonderful gifts and services to the Franklin community. The Registry offers such a unique shopping experience to those who live in the Franklin area and to those visiting historic downtown Franklin.

“Everybody has something special they contribute to the store to make it what it is,” Kathy says.

Kathy primarily handles marketing and advertising while Jane takes care of finances, but everyone on staff does whatever is necessary to make The Registry the best it can be. Together, they have gone through major life events which have not only created a strong bond but also helped them relate to things happening in their customers’ lives.

“Nobody does customer service like we do,” Kathy says.
