The winter season can bring on skin dehydration with cold temperatures, wind and increased use of ambient heat ventilation systems in our work, vehicles and homes. Paired with less sun exposure that we need to boost immune systems, support cardiovascular and skeletal system health, and even help with mood stabilization, extra care is needed to feel our best.
Here are a few ways to stay balanced through the winter:
- A facial series every 30 days throughout the winter season can be very beneficial to add hydration back in to dull, dry skin.
- Add a hydrating mask to your home regimen. After cleansing and patting dry, apply a hydrating mask and let sit. Following removal, finish with antioxidants, moisture, and protecting SPF.
- Light-emitting diode (LED) light therapy has many positive effects. Red light therapy is anti-inflammatory, helps to produce collagen, aids in the regeneration of healthy skin cells, and aids in the anti-aging process. It’s been known to mimic some positive attributes that correlate with direct sunlight.
At The Skin Lab, an Aesthetic Med Spa, one of our most popular facial series options in the winter is the Hydro Oxygen Facial. This treatment provides a surge of hydration, a beautiful resurface, and a great deal of anti-aging.
Another popular option is a hydrating mask, Hyla 3-D, from Jan Marini from our clinical/medical grade line. With hyaluronic acid and anti-aging moisturizer, this mask leaves the skin lifted, plumped and hydrated.
LED light therapy is a fantastic fit for a great many number of issues including dullness and dehydration. Red light therapy is also a wonderful anti-aging mechanism.
The Skin Lab was established in 2020 to bring these services to Wilson County, located in the heart of Lebanon, TN with a team of medical aestheticians ready to correct your dry, dull, and other winter skin issues.
