The Sweet Sounds of Symphony

The Lone Tree Symphony Orchestra Commemorates 20 Seasons of Success

The sound of beauty is in the air. The Lone Tree Symphony Orchestra held its 20th season-opening celebration on Oct. 4 at the Lone Tree Arts Center with a performance of “Déjà vu!” A fitting concert for the inaugural occasion, it included works from Verdi, Grieg, Vaughan Williams, Strauss and Beethoven.

There are four more shows in the season. Special recognition for the gift of believing in the LTSO was given to original symphony members Jacinda Bouton, Peter Huffaker, Scott McDonald, Nancy Casper, Patty Kritz, Amy Prater and David Unkrich. All seven have been with the LTSO since the beginning in 2000. Former LTSO President and member John Nemcik was also memorialized. His passing in September 2019 left the organization heartbroken, with his impact and guidance leaving a lasting presence due to the changes he assisted in implementing.

The majority of this talented group of musicians are retirees, educators and people with jobs in addition to their symphony duties. The LTSO is supremely thankful for the donors and sponsors who have allowed the organization to develop into its 20th season.

To support the symphony, ask executive director Cindy Kessinger about the Symphomaniacs, Mini-Symphony To-Go and sponsoring music selections and programs. You can also support the LTSO through Amazon Smile and Colorado Gives Day. Contact Cindy at 303.909.6268 or ExecutiveDirector@LoneTreeSymphony.org.
