Catherine Ferrera has been a resident of Kirkland for nineteen years and of the greater Seattle area for thirty. In 2003, she became a real estate agent. She has raised her family here and is passionate about Kirkland and the Northwest. “Kirkland is a place that feels urban and small-town all at the same time”.
Recently, Catherine joined Compass Real Estate, a national real estate company that offers great tools for sellers and buyers. One of those tools being Compass Concierge; this service allows a seller to update or fix items in their home prior to putting it on the market. Compass pays for the renovations upfront, which the homeowner pays back to the company at closing. This is essentially an interest-free loan, and Catherine and her team manage the process, including helping find the contractors needed and managing the project. Recently, this part of her business has really taken off and she was so excited to learn that her daughter, McKenna Ferrera wanted to join her team to help manage this process.
McKenna graduated from Gonzaga University, where she studied finance and entrepreneurship while playing Division I soccer. Since then, she has been working at a real estate development firm based in the affordable housing sector. While she loved learning about the multifamily side of the industry, she wanted to move toward the creative, and client-facing sector that residential offers. “This pandemic has really made us all reflect on our situations and future goals. I have always been interested in the creativity and potential of residential homes and real estate, and I realized that I was inspired by exactly what my mother has done with her business and clients.” Living in Seattle and having grown up in Kirkland, McKenna offers an insightful perspective of the greater Seattle area. “I feel really thankful to have this opportunity, that the timing was right, and that I get to work with my mom and bestfriend.”
For Catherine it was an easy decision to have McKenna join the team, “I always secretly, or not so secretly wanted one of my kids to join the team. I am lucky to love what I do and want McKenna to experience that passion and satisfaction of helping a family or individual find their dream home!” The Ferrera Team hopes your holiday season is filled with gratitude, peace and good health.
