Rum - it's hard not to think of spiced rums, pirates and sweet tropical drinks, but in the last decade Rum has showcased its ability to compete with the best spirits in the world - Scotch, Bourbon… the list goes on.
Leading that charge is the Foursquare Rum Distillery in Barbados - owned and operated by 4th generation of the family, Richard Seale. Their rums earning recognitions as "the PAPPY of Rum" (Fred Minnick) and "some of the very best things money can buy" (Forbes). Winning multiple awards: 6x (ISC) & 4x (IWSC) Rum Producer of the Year and notably "Outstanding Spirits Producer" (IWSC 2021) and "Supreme Champion Spirit" (ISC 2021) - against all spirits and producers in two of the oldest and largest Global Competitions.
So how has this happened? Their philosophy on rum making - no flavor additives, no sweeteners, no filtration, unique barrel aging - the same as the very best Whiskey producers, but letting rum be rum.
These rums have transformed the perception of Rum, and have been embraced by the whiskey lovers of the world. So the next time you wander your local store, keep an eye open for Foursquare and their game changing rums.
