Anyone visiting Big Sky lately will see an exciting amount of growth and prosperity. For those who knew the Big Sky of decades past, there is awe in what has transpired in just a couple of years.

There are many new buildings making up the new Big Sky and they are inarguably impressive. The opportunity for new business owners is endless and even those possibilities are growing. There are roads in places that are clearly designed to accommodate a vision of more expansion and a broader perspective of what Big Sky can be.

In the middle of those roads, still somewhat isolated at the moment, is The Wilson Hotel. This strategically placed hotel offers brilliant accommodations that allow people to both work and vacation in Montana, or do both simultaneously.  With luxury suites that accommodate families, couples, business travelers, and those just looking for a place to call home base while exploring the area, The Wilson has it all, yet in a new and modern hotel environment.

The Wilson is very well set up to offer locals of Bozeman in particular, a fantastic “staycation”. With a gourmet grocery store right across the street, a shuttle that runs up to Big Sky Resort throughout the day and evening, choices of kitchenettes or full kitchens, pull out couches, and the ability to sleep many in a room, families can stay in Big Sky for a seamless getaway not far from home.

It’s also strategically located in such a way as to have access to the walking downtown, known as Big Sky Town Center.  The Wilson is at the center of it all. Locally owned boutiques; outdoor gear shops; art galleries; restaurants such as sushi, Thai, Raman, Italian, local Montana fare and more are just steps away from the Wilson lobby and plaza.

The movie theater has a full bar and fun weekly events like Friday Night Trivia, and new bars such as The Standard and Tips Up are featuring live music, comedy hours, late-night dance parties with DJs, and a local’s favorite, Friday Afternoon Club with live music, mingling friends and families, and food and drink specials.

The new and old roads in Big Sky seem to take you to The Wilson and all the surrounding amenities, intuitively.

In the summer, the Farmer’s Market occurs weekly, showcasing local artisans, regional farmers, live music, and tasty treats. Music in the Mountains happens every Thursday night in the Community Park with hundreds of people of all ages dancing to well-known, nationally touring bands, while perusing the many food trucks and setting up blankets, camp chairs and picnic spreads as the sun sets behind Lone Peak.

The Wilson allows dogs, has a tuning room for skis, a beautiful outdoor pool and large hot tub, fitness club, playground, game room, and is a short, scenic drive to Yellowstone National Park. It’s also set up both inside and out to handle large events. With 3,000 square feet of meeting space inside and an outdoor space that encompasses the hotel, it’s an ideal spot for special events, weddings, and company gatherings.

There is now an energy and excitement that is driven by possibility, and the incredible offerings that are available in Big Sky’s Town Center and beyond. I for one, am thrilled to watch Big Sky continue to grow and evolve. And The Wilson’s spectacular patios that gaze up at Lone Peak and the growing Town Center are the perfect spot to do so.
