Now operating out of neighboring Evans, Moffat Glass has been quite literally shaping our community and helping it shine since 1921.

From its humble beginnings under Edwin Moffat to its modern-day revival under Eric Stern and newly promoted partner Mike Garner, this family-rooted business has become an illuminating example of adaptability and innovation, key qualities that contribute to Greeley’s vibrancy.

Originally stationed in downtown Greeley, Moffat Glass endured trials that would’ve toppled lesser operations, including a mysterious fire in 1980. “Some people think it was arson connected to the JBS (nee Monfort) labor strike,” Eric shares with a laugh, recounting a local urban legend. "Maybe they confused ‘Moffat’ with ‘Monfort!’"

Despite such challenges, the company persevered, moving to multiple locations before finding its current location in Evans to accommodate its growing needs.

“We needed space for our fabrication equipment and enough power to pull 2,500 amps,” explains Mike.

The Evans facility is now the hub of the duo’s thriving operation, specializing in creating stunning, custom glass solutions for Northern Colorado homes and businesses alike. Whether it’s sleek shower doors, expansive windows or eye-catching enclosures for wine rooms and entertainment spaces, the company aims to elevate every project. “A lot of times, we’re the finishing touch,” Mike says. “We hear it all the time: ‘This glasswork just completes the room.’”

With the addition of CNC (Computer Numerical Control, aka computer-operated) machining tools, Moffat Glass has taken precision to new heights, ensuring each piece is meticulously crafted for maximum aesthetic quality, functionality and safety alike.

“It’s all about efficiency and maintaining the highest standards for both our staff and customers,” Eric emphasizes.

After working for Moffat Glass in high school, Eric spent 17 years with a national glass company in Denver and Houston before returning to his home region in 2008 to take over the family business from his father Chuck.

Despite launching the new iteration of the company during the devastating economic and housing market collapse of the time, Eric and Mike rolled up their sleeves—literally—and installed glass themselves to keep the company afloat.

Now in 2025, with more than a century of legacy behind their ever-evolving brand, Moffat Glass is not just a business—it’s a cornerstone of the community whose fruits of labor can be seen everywhere around town.

Whether replacing windows to reveal breathtaking mountain views or installing beautiful storefronts for local businesses, Eric and Mike take pride in helping clients bring their visions to life.
