Kristin Cavallari has an unparalleled resume. She's a former reality TV star, mom to three kids, Camden (age 8), Jaxon (age 7) and Saylor (age 5), author (2 cookbooks, True Comfort and True Roots and a lifestyle book, Balancing in Heels) and founder of the brands Uncommon James, Little James and most recently Uncommon Beauty. "Everything that we're doing is true to who I am and what I love."

Uncommon James was born in 2017 -- timeless, effortless and sophisticated jewelry for women on-the-go. Cavallari designed pieces that are feminine with edge, classic yet trendy, and simple. The brand’s flagship brick-and-mortar store is located in the Gulch in the heart of Nashville, with locations in Chicago and Dallas. Cavallari says while they do want to expand, "We don't have any leases signed. But I was in Charleston about a month ago, looking at spaces there. Austin is really exciting for me. I don't want to have 100 stores - that's not my goal. But maybe a few more under our belt."

She continues, "I'm not looking to do purses or clothes. Right now, I want to take what we're doing and do it really well and continue to grow what we have. Obviously, being a mom of three, Little James was really important to me. It's not our biggest driver of sales but I just enjoy doing it because of my kids. They help pick out the prints. We're honing in on just doing pajamas right now."

And earlier this year, Cavallari launched Uncommon Beauty with five products that she considers an essential part of her daily routine. "I live a very natural healthy lifestyle. And that includes everything I'm putting ON my body as well as IN my body. So skincare has always been really important to me because I don't go down the route of fillers or botox so taking really good care of my skin is even more important. I wanted to do a line that was clean." Her skincare line launched in April and literally sold out within a week. (It's back in stock now!)

So what words of wisdom would she impart on budding entrepreneurs? "Stick to your guns. Don't let a few No's discourage you. Trust your gut. Figure out who you are and what you want to stand for. Focusing on that is really important. Figure out who you are and don't stray from that."

And for her next big project, the cookbook author is planning her third one. "I'm about to start working on another cookbook this fall. It would come out in the Spring of 2023. I'm excited to get back in my kitchen. It's tough work but it's a really fun process. And I'm honored that I'm able to do it for a third time."

But without a doubt, her greatest project is raising her three beautiful children. "It really forces me to be the best version of myself because I want to be such a great mom to them. All I care about at the end of the day is that they are happy and have a fulfilled life. What can I do to make sure they are able to achieve that? It's the biggest challenge of my life and the most rewarding. I know everyone says that, but it's the truth."

And in spite of everything she has going on, she does make time for herself. Cavallari says, "Working out helps me relax. It clears my mind. And I love meditating. I love a bath with a face mask on. I love a massage."

How does the impressario like living in Franklin? "There's so much going on in Franklin. There's a lot to do. It's a great place to raise a family. And I love how normal it is. The people are really cool and respectful. It's the cutest little town too. We live a very normal life and I love that." KristinCavallari.com
