Established in 2019 by Houstonian Christina Kost, BITES HTX has become a favorite for festive soirées. “I created BITES to provide Houston with a culinary charcuterie experience and an elevated service for those who love to host and entertain,” says Kost. She shares five tips for easy holiday entertaining this holiday season.

1. Have an edible pièce de résistance

Save time on prep by having an edible statement piece that serves both as decor and an apéritif for your guests. We recommend BITES’ Holiday Charcutebrie Wreath featuring artisan and pasture-raised charcuterie and organic accompaniments on a 2+ pound wheel of creamy French imported Brie.

2. Create a signature cocktail

We like to stock our bar cart with a signature cocktail (or two) along with a couple of selections of wine. We keep it simple by selecting a chic signature cocktail that pairs well with champagne or sparkling wine.

3. Individually portioned Apéritifs

Consider providing your guests individually portioned aperitifs as opposed to a buffet or grazing style set-up. Our Holiday Charcuterie Bites are served on an individual disposable, biodegradable palm leaf platter. Make it extra chic by creating a spread of these delectable bites on decorative pedestals and serving platters amongst your holiday decor.

4. Provide Hand Sanitation

Make your event safer by encouraging frequent hand sanitation practices. Consider placing a bottle of quality hand sanitizer decorated with a festive bow or foliage at your bar cart and where you will be serving your apéritifs.

5. Host Outdoors or In Shifts

For longer fêtes, we encourage moving your soirée outdoors. If that is not an option, consider having your guests arrive in shifts during a designated time.
