Tips for Men’s Health and Wellness

Taking the Time to Balance

True strength isn’t just built in the gym – it’s forged in the daily commitment to care for your body, sharpen your mind, and fuel your spirit. For too long, men have been conditioned to power through pain, bottle up stress, and put off doctor visits until something breaks. But real vitality does not come from ignoring the signals, it comes from tuning in. Taking care of your health is not just about living a longer life – it’s about living better, with energy, clarity and purpose. When you invest in your wellbeing, you’re not just adding years to your life, you are adding life to your years.

While most of us know the basics – eat well, move more, stress less – it’s easy to let those habits slide in the fast pace of todays’ world. That’s why we have narrowed it down to our top favorite health tips every man should revisit, especially as the summer rolls in. During the season of barbecues, beach days and outdoor adventures, it is the perfect time to take stock of your health, reset your routine and make wellness a top priority. A bit of intention in the days ahead can lead to  stronger, healthier and more balanced days ahead.

Creating new habits does not require a complete overhaul – lasting change stares with small, intentional steps that, over time, can boost overall health and quality of life. So, here are a few ideas to start on a path of wellness and balance.

Here’s to a healthy and enjoyable summer season, and hopefully beyond.

Juicing

There is a common fear that juicing is full of sugar and lacks fiber, but juicing can be seen as a supplement, providing dense nutrients without the need for the body to break down fiber. The benefits to juicing are far reaching, from improved digestive health to glowing, better sleep, more energy and clear skin.

Living Food Diet and Protein

Eating living foods, raw or food in its most natural state, helps prevent disease and maintain health. These foods contain vital life force nutrients, including vitamins, minerals, amino acids and oxygen, as well as enzymes. High quality protein from sources like fish, chicken breast, eggs, quinoa, lentils and Greek yogurt are also important for energy, building muscle and strength.

Sleep and Hormonal Health

Quality sleep is vital for physical recovery and mental and emotional health. Sleep is essential for healthy testosterone and cortisol levels, according to the Journal of the American Medical Association. The average adult needs between seven and nine hours of sleep per night. Less than this can lead to far-reaching health issues, including cognitive issues later in life.

Importance of Hydration

Hydration is a simple way to support overall health. A good rule of thumb, according to the National Council on Aging, is to take one-third of your body’s weight and drink that number of ounces in fluids. Health benefits include improved brain performance, better digestion, more energy, kidney stone prevention and better heart health, to name a few.

Get Regular Exercise

According to the American Heart Association, men aged 30-50 should get at least 150 minutes per week of moderate aerobic activity, plus muscle-strengthening activity two days per week. Regular weekly exercise can lower cholesterol, improve circulation and decrease joint pain, along with lowering the risk of heart attack, stroke and high blood pressure.

Laugh and Have Fun

According to sources, including the Mayo Clinic, laughter truly is one of the best medicines. Laughter can stimulate organs, release tension, relieve stress response, relieve pain, improve the immune system, boost emotional and mental health and so much more. So, take a break, go to a comedy club or find other outlets that allow you time for laughter and fun.
