In January, Frederick County’s Office of Economic Development (OED) announced the 2022 winners of the Top 50 under 40. These 50 people exemplify what it means to be an amazing professional across a variety of industries. From lawyers and scientists to artists and personal trainers and more, Frederick is filled with incredible people who are accomplishing goals and setting the stage for the next generation of professionals. They will leave behind some big shoes to fill. The Top 50 under 40 is a year long recognition by the OED. The recipients for the award were nominated by the people around them based on testimonials of their leadership and generosity to the community and their company. The Office of Economic Development is the bridge between the business community and the local government. With just over 6,000 small businesses in the county, Frederick is continuing to grow. There is a diverse business community supporting each other to try new things because, here in Frederick, passion drives progress. “Our county is such a special place. Our businesses, economic development partners and leadership have worked together to ensure a strong economy and have created real momentum over the past several years. I look forward to our future and hearing about Frederick County’s continued success,” said Helen Propheter, Executive Director of the OED. Propheter retired in June after 30 years of dedicated service to the Frederick County Government and seven years as executive director. Each year the OED chooses a different group of people or businesses to recognize for their contribution to Frederick. Stay tuned for how to nominate someone for whatever is coming next from the OED. If you see a Top 50 Under 40, be sure to congratulate them and thank them for their commitment to our community. DiscoverFrederickMD.com
