BuckHaven City Lifestyle: What do you see as the biggest challenge in connecting with your students?
One of the most rewarding challenges in connecting with our students is embracing and addressing the diverse and individualized needs each student brings to the classroom. We continually strive to adapt our teaching methods to meet those needs, while ensuring all our students feel valued, supported, and understood.
Our program is highly interactive, engaging students in their learning process, an interactive approach that allows faculty to facilitate and observe student independence, confidence, and social-emotional development.
BCL: How do you help students learn the art of balance?
We prioritize helping students achieve a healthy balance between school, friends, activities, chill time, and family. We do not assign homework before fourth grade. For students in fourth, fifth, and sixth grades, homework is targeted and purposeful, designed to reinforce learning and build the habit of responsibility for schoolwork without overwhelming them. Students have extracurricular choices that reinforce a healthy balance of play and academics. These activities help students develop new skills, foster friendships, and enjoy their leisure time.
Trinity Schools offers robust parent education programming that supports families in maintaining a healthy balance between play and academics.
