Trends in Aesthetics and Wellness from La Maison

“Aging is a fact of life, looking your age is not,” said Dr. Howard Murad, founder of the American Academy of Esthetics. While cosmetic surgery is noted as far back as the 1800s, invasive plastic surgery really began to take flight in the 1970s and into the 90s. Today, however non-invasive cosmetic procedures are all the rage, and when it comes to aesthetic medicine trends, Bucks County’s Victoria Rappaport is on the forefront; offering the most innovative, high-tech treatments available today!

We had the opportunity to meet the Master Esthetician, face-to-face. As one might expect, Victoria possessed a radiant glow, but when we dove into her 15 years’ experience in the skin care industry and began talking about what makes her Newtown Spa, La Maison House of Aesthetics, shine, she really lit up! Named for its resemblance to a New Orleans style home, the building’s gorgeous architecture with its stunning wrought iron steps and balcony are hard to miss, and add a touch of southern charm to Sycamore Street. Inside, the space is warm, inviting and unintimidating. Upon entering, we were greeted with a smile by receptionist and laser specialist, Irene. We then needed a few minutes to take it all in….and by “all”, we mean the beauty and design; luxurious high ceilings, transom windows, the soft mix of grey and beige wallpaper, and the exquisite use of deep slate blue accents including a barn door that contributes to its Modern Farmhouse style.

Victoria opened La Maison in 2020 and states, “like other businesses that opened amidst the pandemic, things got off to a bit of a rocky start. Luckily, the word is getting out, and now more than ever people are concerned with not just looking but feeling their best!” We asked how La Maison differentiates itself from the other wellness spas. Victoria explained that La Maison is a hybrid; part day-spa and part med-spa. “We offer something for everyone; massages, waxing and a variety of facials including the Hydra-facial which leaves your skin feeling like new.”

Victoria began her career mentoring under a dermatologist where she discovered her passion for skin care. She enrolled in cosmetology school and became a licensed esthetician. Upon graduating, she worked alongside a plastic surgeon and later opened her first business; a small lifestyle spa. It was here where she met University of Pennsylvania physician, Dr. Peet, who brings his able hands into the world of aesthetics. Dr. Peet is the acting Medical Director of La Maison and specializes in Botox, Juvederm fillers, Restylane fat transfer, and PRP for both skin and hair rejuvenation.

We asked Victoria to share some of La Maison’s most popular and effective treatments at the moment:

HALO facial treatment: HALO is the world’s first Hybrid Fractional Laser (HFL) that is revolutionizing resurfacing. HALO skin treatments are delivering great results and leaving clients with firmer skin, the reduction of age spots, wrinkles, and lines without discomfort or downtime.

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) topical applications and injections: PRP procedures use a concentration of a patient’s own platelets applied either topically or as an injection into an affected area to accelerate healing and cellular growth. PRP facial treatments have shown remarkable results in terms of stimulating collagen production, reducing fine lines and wrinkles, enhancing skin texture, and giving patients a healthy glow, often helping patients looks 10 to 15 years younger after a series of treatments. At La Maison, Dr. Peet also uses PRP to foster hair rejuvenation in both men and women and patients are enjoying great success!

Traditional treatments with a new twist: While traditional treatments such as fillers, lasers and chemical peels have been popular for many years to combat signs of aging on face, neck and chest, these treatments are now being used for other areas. La Maison offers several options for hand rejuvenation to restore the look of aging hands, as well as DiVA laser therapy, an in-office treatment to aid in women’s gynecologic health.

Intravenous vitamin treatments: With last year’s breakout of Covid-19, IV therapy has soared. While we all get nutrients from the foods we eat and by taking oral vitamins, many are opting for intravenous drips as the best defense against colds, the flu, and for boosting immunity. IV drips are known to have a higher absorption rate and lessen the chance of gastrointestinal side effects. At La Maison, IV Therapy is administered by their Registered Nurse, Dana, and clients can choose from an extensive menu including: LIQUILIFT, a B-12 drip which helps boost energy, mental clarity, and promotes healthy looking hair and skin. THE FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH which slows down aging by detoxifying and rehydrating skin after sun exposure while also nourishing hair, skin, and nails. The PERFORMANCE HYDRATION combats fatigue by naturally balancing energy levels. With THE EXECUTIVE, clients immediately feel sharper and report an improved overall mood.

As human nature would have it, we tend to focus our energy on others and too often forget about our own self-care needs. Victoria and the La Maison team are happy to discuss and implement a custom regime that best fits your lifestyle. Visit La Maison, in person or at www.lamaisonnewtown to learn more about their state of the art services and start your self-care journey today.
