Creating Decadent Sweet and Savory Edibles for Every Occasion

From a young age, Torte & Eat owner Tess Taibo developed a passion for creating elevated gourmet and fusion dishes using fresh ingredients. “I grew up in Napa, California, which is basically a food and beverage paradise,” shares Tess. “It exposed me to all kinds of great fresh flavors and inspired me to make lighter and fusion dishes.”

Through the years, Tess honed her craft serving as a private chef, catering events, and making specialty cakes and desserts. “I started making gourmet items like small bites and meals for friends for special events,” she says. “That turned into very specialty kinds of gourmet appetizers, cocktail spreads, and desserts.”

“The name Torte & Eat is inspired by the love I have for both savory bites as well sweet items like cakes and specialty desserts,” she adds. “I have the tagline on my site that food is worth overthinking because, to me, some of the most special dishes that surprise and delight people come from a thoughtful approach to food.”

Currently, Tess creates customized, elegant Sip & Sweet boxes perfect for special occasions or as a simple thank-you gift. “I love to create interesting flavor combinations by adding a gourmet twist, say with botanicals, that elevate items to something more than what you can pick up at the store and then customizing those items specifically for people,” says Tess. “These boxes are a great way to do that. The boxes can include a mix of different edibles such as gourmet filled cupcakes, decorated cakesicles, decadently flavored truffles, or specialty cookies.” Boxes come with alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage options such as champagne, whisky, or hot chocolate bombs and can be customized with savory items as well.
