As a parent, there are countless things you can do for your child’s health other than the daily glass of milk and multivitamin, especially if they are into athletics. Early chiropractic care in youth sports is one of those many things. Children involved in athletics are prone to various injuries. That's why chiropractic care helps them perform in sports and ensure that injuries don’t damage those growing bodies.
“I’m relieved my child is being taken care of while playing a sport that is rough on the body” -Sherrie, the mother of a young athlete and patient of Dr. Jeff
Dr. Jeff’s health advice for kids:
Maintain flexibility and strength by being active consistently
Remember the body is not invincible (Don’t be afraid to take breaks)
Be proactive about recovery if injured (rest time, chiropractic care)
Take time to learn about nutrition and health
Dr. Jeff Hogan, of Hogan Health & Chiropractic (and iCome2U Chiropractic!), provides chiropractic treatment for children because he himself received life-altering chiropractic care as a child athlete. Growing up, he played hockey and, as a natural result of shoulder checks and spills on skates, he sustained some injuries. His love for the ice spurred his ‘sports focus’ when he eventually studied medicine in college.
Fast forward to today, and Dr. Jeff is paying it forward by seeing patients of all ages (as young as 10 days old!), especially young athletes. Dr. Jeff is a big advocate for children’s health, and encourages people of all ages to be proactive about the care that their bodies need–whether it’s nutrition, flexibility, recovery, or strength training. He sees anyone from collision athletes (like hockey players) to mixed martial arts understudies, to all to all the outdoor explorers of Colorado (skiers, climbers, hikers, trail runners)... and young football players like Logan!
Having your kids back!
Logan is a promising young local football player, as well as a loyal patient of Dr. Jeff. And not only is he a big fan of football, Logan is a big fan of his chiropractic care! Logan started seeing Dr. Jeff about five years ago, which made him feel “so much better.”
Logan plays for both the Broomfield Bearcats, as well as the Broomfield Football Club! He is a versatile player on the football field. Playing offensive guard one minute and middle linebacker on defense the next. Logan prefers the latter because tackling is his favorite thing about his favorite sport!
“I’m relieved my child is being taken care of while playing a sport that is rough on the body” said Sherrie, Logan’s mother, who is sure to have the same feelings as any other parent on the sidelines of a football field!
It’s never easy watching your kids tackle (and get tackled)! But, nevertheless, parents support their dreams from the sidelines–and one of the most important ways to support their dreams is to support their entire skeletal structure. To look into pediatric chiropractic is to have your kid’s back (all 33 vertebrae)...
