Transforming ordinary concrete floors into durable, stylish surfaces that stand the test of time is the mission of the three owners of TAK Epoxy: Tyler Mauder, Aaron Kyle and Kyle O'Farrell. Their top-notch resin coatings protect floors from moisture, oil spills, UV rays, mishaps or heavy usage.
Tyler says they presently have 16 in-stock epoxy flake colors, with "the sky being the limit" to create customized blends for which customers select the percentage of each chip color chosen.
He says a new product they've added is working with a company called MarbleWRAP Designer Epoxy to provide a topcoat over the flakes with an extremely low odor while the new coating cures. "This offers a great option for basement jobs, and is likely a less noticeable smell to pets."
One recent business project that the team thoroughly enjoyed was applying a special ESD (electrostatic discharge/dissipative) anti-static flooring in a warehouse for a company that manufactures aerospace parts. This type of floor grounds and protects sensitive machines. In this case, the floor is anchoring very expensive 3D printers.
Aaron reminds that a finished garage floor increases the usable square footage of homes. Whether the new finished space becomes a gym, workshop, storage zone or clean landing spot, epoxy gives it purpose and personality. He says combinations of black, gray and white floors are still very popular.
Kyle says they provide complimentary consultations and free quotes, with options for one-day or two-day coatings. "We also offer a 7x14-foot trailer that can be rented for storing items while we're coating floors. We provide locks for it, and come back within a week after the project is finished to pick it up. That's become a popular option."
This team also grinds, repairs, vacuums and moisture-checks floors before they apply epoxy, because they confirm that better preparation equals better adhesion and a floor that doesn’t peel, bubble or flake.
