Belle Meade Lifestyle had the opportunity to sit down with Lindsey Moore, co-owner of LMV Travel Consultants, to discuss how to travel in style.
On your website, it says: “luxury isn’t just a style of travel, it’s the standard we set for every journey we design.” What does this look like?
To us, luxury is about creating an effortless experience from beginning to end. It starts with listening— understanding how our clients like to travel, what excites them, and what they value most. From there, we design every detail with intention, whether that's selecting the right boutique hotel, arranging a private guide, or ensuring every transfer is seamless. Luxury isn't defined by a price tag; it's the confidence that every detail has been thoughtfully considered so our clients can simply enjoy the journey.
What does "traveling in style" mean to you, and how has that definition evolved since you started LMV Travel Consultants?
When we first launched LMV Travel Consultants, I thought traveling in style meant staying at beautiful hotels and flying in premium cabins. While those experiences are wonderful, I've learned that true luxury is personalization. Traveling in style means having an itinerary designed specifically for you—whether that's dining in a centuries-old restaurant, staying in a historic palace hotel, exploring a destination with a local expert, or having the flexibility to slow down and truly experience a place. Today, I believe luxury is less about excess and more about meaningful, memorable experiences.
What's the biggest misconception people have about using a travel advisor instead of booking on their own?
Many people assume using a travel advisor costs significantly more, when in reality it often saves both time and money. Beyond pricing, our greatest value is our expertise and relationships. We know which hotels consistently deliver exceptional service, which experiences are truly worth the investment, and how to anticipate challenges before they happen. Clients aren't just paying for a reservation—they're investing in peace of mind and a carefully curated travel experience.
What's one small, inexpensive thing a traveler can do that instantly makes a trip feel more stylish or elevated?
Slow down. Instead of trying to see everything, choose one memorable experience each day. Have coffee at a beautiful café, linger over a long lunch, or watch the sunset with a glass of wine overlooking the city. Those unhurried moments often become the memories people treasure most, and they don't require a luxury budget.
If someone is looking for something more affordable but still wants their trip to feel like a five-star experience, what's the one area you'd tell them to splurge on?
I always recommend investing in the hotel. You don't have to book the most expensive suite, but choosing a well-located hotel with exceptional service can transform an entire trip. Returning each evening to a comfortable room, attentive staff, and a beautiful setting elevates every day of your vacation. It's one investment that pays off from the moment you arrive until you check out.
This is for our September Style Issue. Is there anything else you want our readers to know?
Travel is one of the few luxuries that continues to enrich your life long after you've returned home. The places you discover, the people you meet, and the memories you create become part of your story. Whether it's a weekend getaway or the trip of a lifetime, thoughtful planning allows you to experience a destination in a way that feels personal, meaningful, and unforgettable. That's what we strive to create for every client at LMV Travel Consultants.
