Brentwood Lifestyle sits down to dinner

Denim

At the top of the luxury hotel, The Joseph, the Denim rooftop bar and restaurant has a breathtaking view of the city, especially at night. On the 21st floor, the restaurant includes indoor and outdoor seating with cabanas for reservation by the rooftop poolside. Enjoy American traditional dinners like a double cheeseburger and steaming hot fries, or the Margarita pizza with fresh basil. For a lighter option, the strawberry and burrata salad with arugula, pistachio crumbles, and strawberries can also include an addition of chicken or shrimp. They have a plentiful list of hors d’oeuvres to choose from. This is a quiet setting for two and great for a cocktail paired with an appetizer. Take in the skyline while sipping a spectacular blend, whichever you like.

Fishmonger

Stylish, fresh, and friendly. If you are looking for an intimate and fun setting for a date night, Fishmonger is the place. The portions are hearty and filling. Start with the creamy chowder and a nice refreshing beverage like their celery soda or liquid death peach tea. The menu includes lobster, mussels, tuna melt, and a raw bar, among other options. On the side, the hot brown butter potatoes are a tasty addition to your dinner. The seared Gulf shrimp roll highlights flavors like dill, shallots, herbs, with the house’s own New Bae seasoning.

Husk

Located in a beautifully refurbished historical home, Husk offers southern cuisine with a modern twist. The executive chef is Bryan O’Kelly, a highlight of Husk. Whether it’s for a weekend brunch or a dinner date with friends, Husk is welcoming and accommodating. For starters, try the hummingbird cake with juicy pineapple bits. The cake is soft and sticky-sweet. Next, the Husk’s cheeseburger is a mouthwatering cheesy double patty, with seasoned fries. For brunch, the Johnny cakes are worth a go again and again. The cornmeal cakes are sweet and savory from sorghum, piled high with smoked sausage and local farm eggs. The fried chicken is another great choice. Breaded, crispy, and golden, it is paired with a hot slaw.

Kisser

Walking into the restaurant Kisser, I was immediately impressed with the quaint little setting of an open kitchen and minimalist seating. The place was buzzing, and a crowd was waiting outside the door. Kisser is a Japanese café-inspired restaurant. The menu showcases Asian infused selections like sushi, beef tartare, the egg salad sando, the creamy bacon udon, and the top-rated chicken katsu sandwich on homemade milk bread. My experience was truly a chef’s kiss.

Sunda

This trendy modern Southeast Asian restaurant in the heart of Nashville’s Gulch is the place for a proper meal. Upon entering through the rotating doors, I was quickly seated and served in a gorgeous modern setting. Dark, moody, and private, you will feel secluded, but attended to. With their own sushi bar, brunch, and dinner menu, anytime is a great time to visit. Start with the juicy and salty oxtail pot stickers. The many options of dim sum will leave you coming back again to try the next one.
