Mackey Saturday is a proud graduate of the University of Northern Colorado (UNC) who says his time in Greeley helped shape his career as a world-class graphic designer, creating iconic logos for such global brands as: Instagram, Oculus and Silk Soymilk.
Originally from California, Mackey moved to Wyoming at 13 before choosing UNC with the hope of eventually becoming an art instructor. "The college's reputation for having great art and education programs made it a perfect fit for me," Mackey says.
After graduating, he taught at Frontier Academy while freelancing on the side, gradually building his design portfolio.
Mackey credits Greeley for offering an ideal environment to nurture his creative career. “The community, the affordable cost of living and workspaces like the Macy Jones Collective were key,” he says.
Mackey's blend of youthful energy and hardworking spirit was also an inspiration in getting his future career kick-started.
"There are resources in Greeley that you don't have elsewhere," Mackey concluded, reflecting on how living here helped propel him toward success. "It gives you the freedom to pursue your dreams."
