When the change of seasons ignites that burning desire to freshen home furnishings, there's a perfect first step to take -- create a mood board for inspiration and decision-making.

"Now's a great time to bring the sunshine feeling of outdoors inside, using interior design techniques and smart selections to mimic nature and surround yourself with happy, relaxing and cheerful colors and pieces," says Jessica Wilkerson, O.P. Jenkins principal interior designer.

With a wink toward remaining classic yet bright, Jessica and the O.P. Jenkins team of professional interior designers guide clients through their process of personalizing and customizing furniture and accessories.

In the visual example that accompanies this article, Jessica first selected a mossy/ivy green fabric color scheme to evoke a sense of energy, renewal and liveliness. Then she targeted complementary elements, such as a pillow, an antique oak side table, a floral print and a light fixture wrapped in nautical rope to pull through that same energy with various textures. Finally, the team demonstrated how to assemble this entire look in a harmonious way.

"All of the upholstery and elements are completely customizable with us, and we have a full design center," says Jessica. "We can hand-select colors and materials tailored to any person's preferences."

Jessica says everything's about longevity, meaning they recommend core products and solutions that are meant to last, such as classic sofas and antique rugs. "We can help identify investment pieces that will allow for flexibility and future refreshing touches, rather than complete replacement," she adds.

With furniture showrooms, a large team of experienced interior designers, and a fleet of delivery trucks, O.P. Jenkins is one of Nashville’s leading furniture and interior design stores.

Jessica says their streamlined process is convenient and timely for clients, but those on a fast timeline also can purchase directly from their showrooms and sales floors.
