Vet Stop Offers a Myriad of Services for Our Be(a)sties

From Staycations to Wellness Plans, Taking Care of and Loving Your Pet Just Got Better

There is little that the Vet Stop Animal Hospital of St. Peters and its sister shop, New Town Vet Stop in St. Charles, don’t offer pets and their humans. The company and its veterinary experts have been servicing the local community for over two decades, prioritizing the health and happiness of every pet that walks, ambles, saunters, or is carried through the door.

The pet specialists at Vet Stop recommend routine checkups, but also strive to see sick pets the same day and offer an array of veterinary services including professional surgery, radiology and dentistry on-site with complete diagnostic blood-work. Other services include dental care, wellness care, vaccinations, parasite prevention and control, puppy and kitten care, senior pet care, orthopedic procedures, diet and nutrition, urgent care, end of life care, boarding, laboratory, microchipping, pharmacy and grooming.

Vet Stop’s pet boarding and daycare offer pet owners the confidence of leaving their furry friends under the trained supervision of a veterinary team. Pets get lots of exercise and play time in the Vet Stop’s indoor and outdoor play yards, personalized attention and plenty of space to rest in large, temperature-controlled runs. For a limited time only Vet Stop is offering a free first day of daycare and free first night of boarding.

Doggie daycare allows dogs to socialize, burn off excess energy, and perhaps help them overcome separation anxiety. And all dogs attending daycare are carefully screened to ensure they will are good playmates for everyone.

But even with the seemingly exhaustive list of services they offer, it wasn’t enough for the pet lovers at Vet Stop. Now they’re offering wellness plans. According to Shelby Dunse, Vet Stop practice manager, the company wanted to offer pet owners an alternative to turning down services because they can’t pay up front. “We are not talking our clients into doing more than we were already recommending. We just made it easier for them to be able to pay for it.”

“We are making it affordable for our clients to provide all the routine care that our veterinarians are recommending for their pets. It takes the cost of care and spreads it out throughout the year,” Dunse said. “Because of the latest veterinary technology, we’re offering better medicine. Also because of the advanced training required in recent years, we’re asking more of our clients, and we realize that. Between these things and inflation, we’ve had to raise our prices. We know that, so we felt like we needed to take some responsibility and help our clients with that. That’s why we introduced wellness plans.”

Called Petly® Plans, the new plans provide preventive veterinary services for one year, with the cost divided into 12 monthly payments. And plans can be upgraded as pets age. All plans include preventive care examinations and core vaccines. But there are a wide variety of options to choose from and can be personalized to each pet, such as “Puppy & Kitten Plans” that Vet Stop pet specialists say will “help your pet get started on the right paw.”

“Adult and Senior Pet Plans” incorporate all of the benefits of the plans for younger pets, but can include extra evaluation that older pets need.
