Watermelon Slushy Wowness

Recipe: Prepare Refreshing, Sensational Summertime Swigs

ingredients:

  • 10 cups seedless watermelon cubes, frozen 24 hours
  • 2–4 tablespoons maple syrup, depending on sweetness desired
  • Juice of 1 large lime
  • 1 1/2 cup filtered water or sparkling water
  • 1/4 cup fresh mint or basil leaves

directions:

  1. Defrost frozen watermelon chunks at room temperature for 5-10 minutes.
  2. Add watermelon, maple syrup, lime juice, mint and water to a high-speed blender or food processor.
  3. Pulse ingredients until watermelon starts to break up; blend to form thick consistency. Adjust syrup to taste or use a sweetener instead. Water quantity also can be adjusted, if desired, especially if serving with straws. 
  4. Divide equally among glasses; garish with mint, lime slices or extra watermelon wedges; serve and enjoy!
