There it is again. That empty spot on the wall that you pass every day. Remaining empty because deciding on a piece of wall art that is tasteful and meaningful can be daunting work. Many locals with this same problem are finding a solution with Angela Powers Fine Art. Angela Powers is a Nashville native who has been painting for as long as she can remember. Although well-versed in a myriad of mediums and styles, her latest endeavor includes the furriest of clients: pets.

"A couple of years ago, I painted my first few pet paintings, and I’m hooked. I really believe this is my gift."

She starts with several pictures taken from clients and chooses one or combines them for a sketch. Once the sketch is approved, it is then oil painted, varnished and framed.

"My paintings are not exact copies of photos. They are much more than that. I have a passion for capturing the heart of pets through beautiful color and lively brushwork… to capture the likeness, personality and spirit of your pet that you will love and treasure for a lifetime."

Pet Portraits are finished in two to three weeks on average, and prices start at $350. For more information, visit her website.
