Personally, I really like giving gifts as much as getting them. There's just something about nailing that perfect gift and lighting someone's face up! When thinking about great gifts that I have gotten over the years, there are many that come to mind. But, I received one that stands out in particular two years ago. A dear friend gave our family a portrait of our beloved dog, Stanley. This oil painting was done by a professional pet artist and really captures my little buddy in all his cuteness. We will cherish this very thoughtful gift long after Stan is gone.

One of my all-time favorite gifts is a drawing my son made for me. It was a simple yet colorful picture of the Kansas City Plaza, with its holiday lights. The drawing was made with love and care and shows how much my son loved my hometown–as much as I did. Every time I look at the drawing, I am reminded of the innocence and creativity of childhood.
