Brothers Andrew and Michael Vallentine opened the doors in July to The NOW Massage (thenowmassage.com) at 375 Hamilton Row, offering high-quality affordable massage services in a truly inspired setting. Offerings range from Swedish and sports to pre-natal massages, with a range of signature enhancements, like Hemp Calm Balm, Herbal Heat Therapy and Crystal Hot Stones.
Founded by Jess Jarrard, a licensed social worker and trauma-informed yoga teacher, Metta + Moxie (mettamoxie.com; 800 N. Old Woodward), a women-owned wellness practice, creates spaces for women to be “seen, heard and abundantly cared for” by blending the practice of movement and mental therapy. Mental health offerings include talk therapy, movement therapy, yoga classes, events and workshops plus women’s retreats.
After three years in Rochester, Lauren Scott fell in love with Birmingham’s historical charm and moved Reiki Euphoria (reikieuphoria.com) to its new spot at 149 Pierce, offering shamanic therapy, astrology chart readings, craniosacral and more — including treating all species of animals.
Indulge in the modern luxury of Serene Scalp Spa (serenescalpspa.com), at 670 Old Woodward, with Japanese Milbon treatments focusing on scalp health, hair growth and stress relief.

RH Detroit, The Gallery and RH Rooftop Restaurant (rh.com) at 300 S. Old Woodward pulled out all the stops for its long-anticipated opening celebration in November (see “City Scene” in this issue), and it does not disappoint. Housed in a four-floor, 60,000-square-foot block-long artisanal brick facade, the Great Room brims with natural light, mouth-blown chandeliers, gilded antique mirrors and more; beyond, installations are presented as RH Interiors, RH Modern, RH Outdoor, RH Interior Design Studio and more.
Brothers Eric and Andrew Redvanly joined forces with their cousin David Pagana, all passionate sportsmen, to live their dream of combining a love of sport and drive to innovate, creating REDVANLY (redvanly.com), premium performance golf and luxury lifestyle apparel. The first to create pull-on golf bottoms, the brand continues to expand, opening its newest location at 203 E Maple Road in November.
Coming Soon Also headed our way in February or March with its first standalone store in Michigan, Rag & Bone (rag-bone.com; 110 S. Old Woodward Ave.) — known for their delicious knits and stunningly perfect denim, with credos of “be a good human” and “pursue better.” The brand is rooted in New York style and British tailoring. Known almost as well for the marketing campaigns, the brand launched in 2012 with Kate Moss, followed by Michael Pitt, Winona Ryder, Emile Hirsch, John Turturro, Harvey Keitel and more.
Coming Soon Textiles fans, rejoice: Ernesta (ernastarugs.com) creates the most glorious bespoke rugs — customized down to the inch in a curated assortment of luxe textures — in a user-friendly, streamlined experience. Opening Jan. 5 at 138 W. Maple Road.
With gear for travel, backpacking, kayaking and rock-climbing — or just cool everyday use — Half-Moon Outfitters (halfmoonoutfitters.com) opened in July 2025 at 34288 Woodward, offering premium brands (Patagonia, Free Fly, Howler Bros., Blundstone and more) in a chill environment.
Coming Soon We may not have an ocean to surf on, but Michiganders know sports and style: Vuori (vuoriclothing.com), the premium performance apparel inspired by the active Coastal California lifestyle, unites fitness, surf, sport and art — and is bringing it in a flagship 4,000-square-foot store to Downtown Birmingham (100 S. Coming Soon Known for its Detroit location and cult-favorite pop-ups, Street Beet (streetbeet.online) at 233 N. Old Woodward is set to open soon, offering its distinct mix of comfort, creativity, irreverent humor and high flavor in the form of cult-favorite vegan comfort food, diner nostalgia, fast-food classics and a walk-up window in the alley.
Founded in France, the Nuns of Fraternite Notre Dame run humanitarian missions around the world — its newest is St. Roger Abbey Patisserie (birmingham.strogerabbey.org) at 215 N. Old Woodward, where the nuns raise funds by selling their exquisite French pastries. The nostalgic space and its offerings are wholesome, homey and delicious: Nuns craft everything by hand, using premium organic ingredients in macarons, cookies, cakes, breads and jams.
