Where Artists & Humans Blossom

Malcom's experience.

Initially Malcolm was a student of CCD’s Summer Intensive in 2020. He was so intrigued with the programming and faculty that he relocated from Indiana to join CCD as a scholarship student that fall. “Since coming to CCD, I have learned much more than just how to be a dancer but how to really move! Foremost, CCD has taught me how to be an artist. But also it’s made me a better person. I have found a safe place, a second home, and deep inspiration. Previous dance studio experiences had negative influences and attitudes that were really hard on me as a young man and dancer. This has been the opposite experience for me at CCD. I am beyond blessed and grateful. The instructors have supported me and encouraged me to find my own voice. CCD is the place where I have truly blossomed. Thank you Julia and everyone at CCD!”

Free programming at the Broomfield Auditorium, includes CCD’s signature annual Anti-Bullying Ballet, with integrated social-emotional learning (SEL) components serving Broomfield student residents. Free in-school dance programs provide instruction for elementary students who might not have access to traditional studios. Financial support for in-studio instruction is provided to students and families in need.

Proceeds from Blossom Ball Sponsors will benefit CCD’s Community Education and Engagement Partnerships. Annually, CCD’s community education programs serve over 22,000 individuals, students, teachers, Title I elementary schools, families, BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, persons with disabilities, persons with neurodiversity, and lifelong learners. CCD’s community outreach and arts education programs are supported across Adams, Boulder, Broomfield, and Jefferson counties by the Scientific Cultural Facilities District (SCFD).

Supported by the Blossom Ball Committee of Broomfield business and community leaders, this year marks Julia Wilkinson Manley’s 20th Anniversary as Artistic Director. With a special appearance by OneRepublic, the event is sure to be an evening of celebration, networking and fun!

YOUR IMPACT
CCD is nationally recognized for high quality dance training for children to adults. CCD believes every student deserves to receive a kinesthetically healthy dance education regardless of age, ability, aspiration, or socio-economic status. CCD provides performances to the public, opportunities for collaboration between art forms, and outreach to citizens underserved in the arts.

The mission of Colorado Conservatory of Dance (CCD), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is to “unleash individual potential and invigorate community through dance.” On April 29th, CCD is excited to return our annual BLOSSOM BALL fundraising event to an in-person gathering at Gatehouse at Lionsgate Event Center.
