For Parizad “Pariz” Patel, beauty has always been about more than great hair. It’s about confidence, connection, and helping people feel like the best version of themselves.
That philosophy is the foundation behind Pariz Salon, the Lake Las Vegas destination she created not only as a luxury salon experience, but also as a place where stylists are mentored, educated, and empowered to grow in their careers.
Pariz’s journey into the beauty industry began long before she opened her doors in Nevada. Born in London, she grew up surrounded by fashion and beauty as respected professions. Yet within her South Asian household, education was always the top priority.
When Pariz first told her parents she wanted to attend beauty school, they were hesitant. Instead of abandoning the idea, she proposed a compromise: she would complete college while also attending beauty school. “Convincing my parents that I could do both taught me that education and passion can truly coexist,” Pariz says. “I followed my love for beauty while honoring my family’s values around education.”
She went on to graduate from California State University, East Bay, while also completing her cosmetology training, laying the groundwork for a career that would eventually combine artistry, discipline, and mentorship.
An unexpected chapter helped shape her confidence as a stylist. While her husband attended medical school, Pariz began cutting hair for students and members of the community. “It became my training ground,” she says. “I realized how something as simple as a great haircut can completely change how someone feels about themselves.”
After returning to the United States, Pariz spent 25 years working with American Airlines, traveling the world while continuing to nurture her passion for hair. When the COVID-19 pandemic prompted many people to rethink their priorities, she saw an opportunity to finally pursue the dream she had carried for decades.
Opening Pariz Salon during such an uncertain time was not without challenges. Lake Las Vegas was still recovering economically, and the beauty industry itself was navigating new realities. “I wanted to show my daughter, Lyla, that nothing is impossible and that you’re never too old to follow your dreams,” she says.
One of the defining elements of the salon is its commitment to education and mentorship. Pariz has intentionally built the space as a training environment where stylists are encouraged to continually develop their craft.
The team specializes in modern techniques that reflect evolving beauty needs, including gray blending, hair extensions for volume and fullness, C-curl textured hair, hair Botox treatments, and specialty luxury services designed to improve the health and appearance of hair.
To ensure her stylists stay at the forefront of the industry, Pariz regularly brings in educators trained through Vidal Sassoon in London and L’Oréal Professionnel Paris, providing advanced training and exposure to global techniques. “The beauty industry is always evolving,” Pariz says. “Education is what keeps stylists inspired and growing.”
Pariz believes beauty services should do more than transform appearance, they should help people feel empowered. “My hope is that every guest leaves feeling confident and uplifted,” she says. “When someone feels good about how they look, it carries into every part of their life.”
While Pariz also supports community initiatives such as Women’s United, her greatest passion remains inside the salon, mentoring stylists and creating a place where both professionals and clients can grow.
At Pariz Salon, beauty isn’t just about style. It’s about confidence, education, and the power of helping people feel seen.
