This year marks a double milestone for Rev Coffee Roasters: 15 years of roasting beans and 18 years of creating connection in the heart of Smyrna. What began as a hidden gem in 2007 has grown into a beloved gathering place that locals proudly call their own.
For owners Nick Bimmerle and Jenn Holt Bimmerle, the journey has been both humbling and rewarding. “We poured everything we had into this place, and the community poured right back into us,” Nick reflects. Originally from Texas, he moved to Smyrna as a child and sees Rev as an extension of his roots. “This city has shaped me, and Rev is a part of that.”
From the beginning, Rev set out to be more than a café. Over the years, it has hosted Rev Fest, block parties, and open mic nights, while also showcasing local artists on the café’s walls. During the pandemic, when doors were closed, patrons pulled out folding chairs in the parking lot just to see one another—a powerful reminder that Rev is, at its core, a community hub.
The coffee, of course, is worth celebrating too. Rev’s Marietta roastery has expanded the brand’s reach nationwide, with beans now shipping across the country and even featured in the Centurion Lounge at the Atlanta airport. Still, many locals come for the small things: a bacon cheddar muffin, a seasonal latte, or the secret back patio that feels like a hidden escape.
Looking ahead, Rev is excited to continue growing wholesale and online sales while keeping Smyrna at the center of its story. “At the end of the day, it always comes back to Smyrna,” Nick says. “This is home.”
