Ask a realtor what helps keep property values high, and they will tell you that it is not just the house but the community in which it is located. This truism – location, location, location – is often cited, but it is rare to find a real estate agency that actively contributes to the health of its neighborhoods.

Enter Reign Realty. A young real estate agency celebrating its one-year anniversary in business, Reign has made an impact in the community with both its agents and its unusual community support program.

The agency is owned by Maureen Lunne, an experienced and highly-rated real estate agent who leads the team of eight knowledgable agents out of a quaint house in Springboro. She says that, when she hires agents, she looks for a depth of experience that is not common in the industry, where many agents have a license but a lack of time on the ground serving clients. This makes her team function much more “like a family,” she notes.

Her agency focuses on all types of residential properties, from land to single and multi-family dwellings. The experience of her agents is critical in matching the property to the potential purchaser.

However, what really makes Reign stand out is its commitment to supporting the south Dayton community. For each sale, 10 percent of the proceeds go into a special charitable account to be distributed to organizations and businesses chosen by the agents at the end of the year. In 2020, Reign was able to make donations to about 14 different charities, and they were a main sponsor of Christmas in Springboro. Additionally, the agency made regular $500 donations to local businesses hit hard by the pandemic, including restaurants. “We reinvest where we work, live, and play,” she says.

Although one might expect the pandemic to have made some interesting changes to the real estate market, Lunne says the market has remained strong. “Springboro doesn’t slow down,” she says. She also notes that the seller’s market is so strong that some potential sellers are waiting to list their properties because they are not certain they will be able to buy a property to move into.

Reign Realty works with both new and experienced residential home buyers and sellers. Lunne offers some advice for those looking for a real estate agent. First, she says, is to choose an agent with good reviews and perhaps one who is referred by another satisfied customer. Second, choose an agent who communicates well and often, staying in regular contact and making the process smooth.

Finally, she recommends finding someone who will ask all the right questions about what is desired in a property. For example, a buyer who expects to continue working from home may need an extra bedroom or a dedicated study. The needs of someone who intends to move within three to five years will be different from those who plan to stay in their home for the next 20. Lunne feels that her agents excel at this type of communication.
