Finding passion in life is what defines us. While there are many pathways and seasons of life we all go through, professional and personal passions tend to intersect at the most opportune and defining moments. For two dynamic women in our area, passions intersect by taking care of their real estate clients in the marketplace while simultaneously making a positive impact on our community.

The individual journeys for Susan Greene and Jana Dee Wade from where they started to where they are now are vastly different. Real estate runs in the family for Susan. Both of her parents were Realtors so it made sense for her to follow that same pathway of success--one that has now spanned for over 48 years for her as well. Separately, Jana Dee had a remarkable 30-year journey as the owner of a body-care manufacturing and distribution company. Then, as fate would have it, real estate found her. Although both paths to being respected experts in our area were different, their mission is (and always has been) the same: to serve their community and clients while striving to provide exceptional service to individuals and families who are embarking on a new journey in one of the biggest investments of their lifetime.

Susan and Jana Dee sat down with Gallatin Lifestyle to share about their professional and personal endeavors:

GL: What was the inspiration for choosing Gallatin for your office location?
Susan: When Harold Crye, Co-Founder of Crye-Leike, asked me to be the Managing Broker of the Gallatin office, I asked the same question! Being a brilliant leader and visionary, he saw the growth potential in Gallatin and thought the timing was perfect for us to be in the Gallatin Market and since August 2016, we’ve served the Gallatin community.

GL: The Gallatin area has seen tremendous growth over the last few years. How do you see the community evolving over the next decade or more?
Jana Dee: Gallatin and the Greater Nashville area are experiencing continuous growth and expansion. Through my work with Crye-Leike Relocation, I’ve noticed a significant influx of people moving into Middle Tennessee compared to those leaving. The reasons behind this trend are evident: individuals come to Gallatin and Sumner County for the thriving economy, abundant job opportunities, excellent schools and a fulfilling way of life. The warmth and hospitality of the friendly people residing here make it a truly exceptional place to call home. Gallatin is, without a doubt, the best of the best!

GL: Navigating the home buying process can be a bit complex for first-time home buyers. How do you help ease that process?
Jana Dee: The process can be really overwhelming, especially for first-time buyers because it’s constantly changing. That’s why it’s so important to guide my clients through each step, from pre-approval to finding their dream home, closing the deal and finally moving in. I make it a priority to ensure my first-time buyers feel at ease by explaining the entire process in a way that they can understand and feel confident about their decisions. This better ensures peace of mind in their overall home buying experience.

GL: Understanding clients’ needs and preferences is of the utmost importance. How do you approach helping your clients find a property?
Susan: Listening first and always! Our world is full of information overload. I want to build relationships with my clients and in doing so, I listen and then guide them the entire way through the process. In many cases, my buyers and sellers are families I have known for a long time and we have developed relationships with one another. They may be buying their first home, a bigger home to accommodate more people, downsizing to a smaller home or even selling family members properties that no longer need their home. I consider what I do a ministry of service in what I know best: real estate.

GL: Our Gallatin community is strong! What community organizations or non-profits are near and dear to the Crye-Leike Gallatin office?
Susan and Jana Dee: When our office opened, we started an annual Toy Drive in 2016 for Gallatin Day Care. We arrange for collection boxes to be placed in multiple businesses throughout the community and the Toy Drive has grown every year! This year, we supplied tennis shoes for children for the summer and we will be resupplying shoes for school as well. We also support Youth Villages and supply backpacks for students every year!
