Starting in 2019, Kayla transformed her hobby of making cakes for family and friends into a thriving enterprise, offering custom treats that bring joy to the community.
The name 'Baking with a Bass' came about during a lighthearted car ride with her husband. “We tossed around a few names, but when I said it out loud, we both laughed, and I knew that was the one,” she recalls with a smile.
Kayla’s creations are as diverse as they are delightful, ranging from cakes, cupcakes, and brownies to macarons and pastries. A standout favorite is her signature vanilla berry cake—bold vanilla layers filled with a triple-berry compote and topped with smooth vanilla buttercream. Beyond desserts, Kayla offers decorating classes and catering services, combining her love for teaching with her passion for baking.

Even when she’s fully booked, she refers customers to other local bakeries, believing in the power of mutual support.
