WHY BE THANKFUL ABOUT YOGA?
“Yoga gives people a place to simply be. We all carry so much—work, family, responsibilities, stress—sometimes we don't realize how much we're holding until we step onto the mat.
At Studio YOU, people walk in for all reasons: movement, stress relief, community or simply an hour that's theirs. They get the chance to slow down, breathe and reconnect. They leave feeling a little lighter. Having that space in your life is something to be truly grateful for.”
WHY'S INNER PEACE IMPORTANT?
"Inner peace doesn't mean life is always peaceful, or that everything is perfect. Life will always bring challenges and things we can't control. To me, inner peace is staying connected to yourself even when everything around you feels busy or uncertain.
When you have that connection, you can respond instead of simply reacting. You become more present, with yourself and with those around you. Yoga has taught me peace isn't something we find outside of ourselves. It's something we practice coming back to."
ARE MEDITATION AND YOGA INTRINSICALLY INTERWOVEN?
"They're different practices, but they're deeply connected. Many people think of yoga as just the physical poses, but it's much more than movement. Breath, awareness and mindfulness are all part of the practice.
For some people, movement is actually what helps them become still. You might walk into class with your mind racing through everything on your to-do list, but as you move and connect with your breath, the noise starts to fade. In that way, the physical practice of yoga can naturally open the door to meditation."
IN WHAT MAIN WAYS DOES YOGA CULTIVATE GRATITUDE?
"Yoga teaches us to pay attention and start appreciating things we usually take for granted. It also teaches us every day is different. Instead of focusing on what we can't do or don't have, yoga invites us to notice what's available to us right now.
The more present we become, the more we notice how much there is to be thankful for, in our bodies, relationships, community and the simple moments of everyday life."
