With a full lifetime of knowledge, residents of Life Care Center of Littleton were kind enough to spend some time sharing their advice and insight. What’s important, what they are thankful for, and how to appreciate the small things in life all came through in these conversations.
Sara Dent, executive director for the facility, didn’t hesitate when she was asked what her favorite part of her job is. Replying quickly with, “Our residents and our staff.” Life Care Center of Littleton specializes in short-term rehabilitation, long-term care, or post-operative recovery.
Sherrie J. - 78 - “I have only one daughter and she gave us three grandchildren. I am thankful for family. I tell everyone this, God loves you so much. That’s what I want to share with the world.”
Bill R. - 92 - As a prostrate cancer survivor, Bill wants to raise awareness and encourage everyone to take the prostate-specific antigen (PSA) test. He says, “I’m here because I took the PSA test every year.” He’s thankful for Jesus Christ. Bill also wanted to make sure the Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) at the facility are appreciated. He says, “They do all the hard work and they care.”
Kirsten T. - 82 - “I am thankful for my kids and I hope children are thankful for their parents. I am also thankful I have a bed to sleep in at night.” Kirsten especially enjoys the spring and the fall. “Spring is wonderful because everything comes to life and fall is nice since the weather is mostly good.”
Helen R. - 94 - Helen has lived in Littleton since she was 10 years old. “It just feels good to be a part of this community.” She’s thankful for her family and treasures the time they spend together. Her advice for the younger generation, “Slow down. Maybe don’t be so busy. Relaxing is important.”
