Women Networking Groups in Denver

Top business experts say that networking is the most important thing you can do to build your professional and personal connections.  Denver has many women-only networking groups where you can meet like-minded individuals who share the same passions and interests as you.  Whether you are on the career path looking to meet other professional women or a volunteer wanting to help a women’s only cause, here are some options for networking in the Mile-High City.

Women of Denver: A Networking Group for the Career Woman

Looking to advance in your business or career?  Women of Denver hosts workshops, summits, and networking events that provide opportunities to build business acumen, increase confidence, and connect with other highly talented and ambitious women.

Their career events provide resources, tools, and exercises to help members increase their ability to earn promotions, salary increases, and new opportunities.

There are 40 events per year (2-4 per month) at a variety of times and locations. Workshop events feature 30-45 minutes of open networking followed by an interactive skills training session.  A workshop on How to Excel at Networking will be taking place on May 5th at 6 pm. Visit https://www.thewomenofdenver.com/ for membership information and event details.

Networking for the Volunteer Minded Woman

Mile High United Way's Women United members help with high impact programs that address the challenges faced by women and their families in our community. The group inspires change by responding to emerging needs in our community and taking action as volunteers and advocates on behalf of women and girls in our community.

Volunteer Highlight: Mile High United Way’s Women United awards an Innovation Prize to an organization working on behalf of women and girls in our community. This year, Women United has selected the Ethiopian Community Development Council African Community Center as its 2019 Innovation Prize recipient for the launch of their new Driving Opportunity program. The ECDC African Community Center helps refugees and immigrants rebuild safe and sustainable lives in Denver. Their female-led Driving Opportunity program will offer driving classes and instruction to members of the female refugee and immigrant community. The program will focus on meeting the diverse cultural and religious needs of the students through its unique approach. Specifically, the classes will be available in three different languages and use all female instructors from the cultures they are serving.

Some other available volunteer opportunities include:

1.     Help school children improve their literacy skills through Mile High United Way's weekly Read With Me program.

2.     Crisis Support: Volunteer at events like Project Homeless Connect, which assists women in our community who are experiencing homelessness.

3.     Show public support and give a voice to those in our community in need of help through participating in annual events like Everyone Counts, the Juneteenth Parade, the PRIDE parade, and more.

Hey Mama: Career Driven Mother’s

Mothers looking to find the perfect work/home balance can find other like-minded individuals at heymama.com. According to the website, 75% of expecting mothers say that they are excited to go back to work after giving birth, yet 43% of them end up leaving the workforce. This comes at a high cost to their careers, the companies they worked for, and the business landscape at large. HeyMama is a place for the mom-boss. The site seeks to build an ecosystem of working mothers who collaborate and empower one another to become the decision-makers around their work, life and family.

Mama Matchmaking and Mamas Make Money networking events are only some of the inspiring events offered by the group.  Membership details and event info available at heymama.co
