For the sophisticated clothing and beauty supply enthusiasts (as well as newbies!) seeking to buy, stylize and accessorize according to their unique color scheme, Greeley's Charley & CO. Market has you covered!

The hybrid boutique and coffee shop is expanding its scope of offerings to the community to include onsite (and remote) color analysis provided by a new, professional partner. Appointments will be available starting September 21.

With three decades of experience around the country, including time spent working in LA's film and TV industry, Deanna Boyd — recent transplant to Colorado — will be popping into Charley & CO. to help customers find the shades that make them look and feel their best. Using a fun and easy process, Deanna will assess each customer’s unique skin tone, hair color and eye color to determine which colors enhance their natural beauty.

Deanna’s system is often based on seasonal color theory, categorizing customers into seasons — Winter, Spring, Summer and Autumn — each with its own palette of flattering colors.

"It's basically what I've been doing for 30 years," Deanna proudly reflects.

"So, getting certified in color analysis just made sense for me," Deanna continued. "Especially since color analysis is coming back strong nowadays, for everyone from Gen Z and Gen Alpha to the rest of us today. It's so cool how modernized it's become, too!"

During a session, Deanna examines a client's undertones, which may be "warm" or "cool" depending on her or his personal composition. She also drapes various colored fabrics over the client to determine which shades enhance their natural glow and which shades make that person's skin look like it could use some brightening.

"The reason we do this is to give the individual we're working with the confidence of knowing they're looking the very best they can and expertly choosing cosmetic products, apparel and accessories that best complement their color palette," Deanna says.

Since the analysis takes place at the conveniently located Charley & CO. boutique, owner Lisa Shelley is then available to help clients find and curate exactly what they may need in her store following their session with Deanna.

"I'm always looking for ways to expand upon what we offer at the store, and that's why I reached out to Deanna," Lisa says.

"This way we can help customers find their colors, so that they can get clothes that work best with their skin tone and features. Which will help make their shopping easier so that they can end up dressing flawlessly!"

Lisa will also be keeping a file for each client undertaking color analysis so that they may continue to find the best items for themselves on each return visit.

Mexico-born esthetician Ana Garcia has lived in Greeley for most of her life and has been a fannishly frequent shopper at Charley & CO. since its opening. She was honored to stop into the store for a preview event in which a diverse group of local women were asked to take part in their own color analysis process with Deanna, offering a glimpse of what’s to come.

"It was so wonderful to go through the color analysis with Deanna, seeing what each of our colors are and which items in the store would go best with our palette," Ana says.

"I definitely recommend this because when you go to a store like Charley & CO. you tend to just gravitate to whatever you may see, without really considering if it fits you as an individual all that well. Their color analysis makes you feel so much better about what you're buying and what you're wearing. And that's what so much of fashion is about!"
