Your Holiday Home

Simple, Festive Tips from The White Hare

Sarah Corrigan, owner of The White Hare, offers these small “switch-outs” and “add-ins” that make a difference in the room…small touches that bring elements of Christmas everywhere you look. In this example from one of her in-store displays, small changes still keep the integrity of the overall design and color scheme of the room while incorporating a holiday theme.

One of the first choices you should make before beginning your seasonal decorating is narrowing in on a color feeling. Keep in mind that red and green are not the only color combination to use for holiday decor. You might choose white, blues and greens, or rose gold and pink. But whatever you select, your home will look most cohesive if you carry the palette loosely throughout.

You can add a variety of greenery throughout the home, a classic way to decorate for Christmas. And adding a beautiful flower arrangement will elevate the décor in any room.

It can be really special to add your unique passions or collections into your décor, perhaps wiring your vintage teacups to your Christmas tree, or displaying toys you enjoyed as a child for a touch of nostalgia.

The key is to make your home feel warm and welcoming…and meaningful for you and your family. So do what feels best and brings you joy.
