Summer is for all things light – linen clothing and salads and of course, books. We want to read something that makes us laugh or takes us away without much effort on our part. A story that is exciting and captivates us from the very first page. Here are three books that I found that are perfect for your next summer read.

The Marriage Game by Sara Desai. A high stakes wager pits an aspiring entrepreneur against a ruthless CEO in this sexy romantic comedy. After her life falls apart, recruitment consultant Layla Patel returns home to her family in San Francisco. With the best intentions in mind, her father offers her the office upstairs to start her new business and creates a profile on an online dating site to find her a man. She doesn’t know he’s arranged a series of blind dates until the first one comes knocking on her door.

The Herd by Andrea Bartz. As head of PR at the elite, women-only coworking space in New York, Hana is working around the clock in preparation for a huge announcement from the charismatic founder of The HERD—one that would change the trajectory of the business forever. Then, on the night of the glitzy Herd news conference, Eleanor vanishes without a trace. Everyone is a suspect.

Beach Read by Emily Henry. One is an acclaimed author of literary fiction. The other writes bestselling romance. She pens a happily ever after, he kills off his entire cast. They're polar opposites both struggling with writer’s block. Filled with field trips worthy of any rom-com montage, everyone will finish a book and no one will fall in love. Really.

"At these depressing, high tension, ill-fated, virus mania days, this kind of LAUGH OUT LOUD novels are the best medicine for our souls!"

"Another nasty, dark, bloody, twisty, mind bending, nail biter, soul crushing, riveting page-turner!"

"OH MYYYYY GOODNESSSSSS! Finally literature gods heard my prayers that I’ve been requesting to read a fantastic romance that I’ve been craving for so long!"
