DIY Charcuterie Boards for Valentine's and Galentine's Day

1. Choose your board and begin with forming your salami into a rose by folding pieces overlapping on a narrow glass.

2. Place two of your favorite mild cheeses on opposite sides of the board. We have a brie wedge and sliced Manchego pictured.

3. Brie pairs well with fruit so using pomegranate seeds or berry jelly sprinkled on top add color and flavor.

4. Roll Prosciutto slices and place opposite of the salami on your board.

5. A bowl of olives in the middle add the perfect salt and fat. You can also opt for gherkin pickles.

6. Dried fruit are a must for any charcuterie board. Apricots, Figs, Apples, and Mangos are great to tuck in spaces that might be bare.

7. Pistachios with shells add a hands on element, or opt for almonds, cashews or Marcona almonds tossed in herby olive oil.

8. Adding a third fun cheese brings in the adventure. Pictured is a port wine derby, while opting for a blue cheese or camembert can elevate the experience.

9. Crackers, crusty bread, rye crisps, cheese crisps all add a nice crunch or vessel for softer cheeses.

10. Grapes: Red, Green, Purple, Cotton Candy. They can set the color tone for your design and are a classic part of your antipasto as a palate cleanser.

11. Additional fresh seasonal fruit like strawberries, peach or pear slices add more pairing options with each bite.

12. Use more nuts or seeds to fill in blank spaces. Bourbon pecans or honey roasted options add a sweet treat to pair with earthy cheeses.
