A Family Road Trip to Explore Callaway Gardens in Georgia

For a summer escape filled with treetop thrills, lakeside fun, and unforgettable family moments, take a road trip south to Callaway Resort & Gardens in Pine Mountain, Georgia. Just under five hours away, this 2,500-acre oasis offers a fresh take on the trees, trails, and water activities you already enjoy back home—but with extra adventure built in.

Kick things off with the Birds of Prey Show at Discovery Amphitheater, where rescued hawks, owls, and eagles take flight in an awe-inspiring, educational presentation offered daily with garden admission.

If you’re seeking adrenaline, the newly renovated TreeTop Adventure Course is a must. With more than 3,000 feet of zip lines, rope bridges, and ladders suspended up to 70 feet high, it’s perfect for brave teens and adults. Even younger kids (ages 5+) can climb and explore on the Sapling Course. Available weekends only, it’s a summer highlight.

From June 2 to July 26, Callaway’s Discovery Days bring camp-style fun to kids ages 5–17. With crafts, workshops, outdoor games, lunch, and garden/beach access included, it’s the ultimate all-day experience.

Every Friday evening, the fun continues with Luau Dinners at Robin Lake Beach—featuring a Hawaiian buffet, welcome Mai Tai, and a lively Polynesian dance show perfect for all ages.

Plan your visit around the July 4th Star Spangled Beach Party (July 4–5), with beach games, live music, Aqua Island, and fireworks lighting up the lake both nights. Or say goodbye to summer during the Labor Day Balloon Show & Glow (Aug. 29–31), with hot air balloons and nightly fireworks.

Stay longer with the Cruise Into Summer Package—15% off lodging, daily breakfast, garden access, and a golf cart rental. For holiday weekends, Stay & Play deals include all the festivities and the comfort of staying right on-site. Visit callawaygardens.com for more information.

From treetops to fireworks, Callaway Gardens turns every summer day into a new adventure.
