About Us

Dogwood Construction was started in 2012 by David Hopkins and his wife Carole Ann. David grew up, in Georgia, competitively riding cutting horses. A legacy builder, he built barns throughout the Southeast with his father. His involvement in the equestrian community has equipped him with the experience to understand the needs of his customers and allow him to build to the highest standards. His focus is building custom homes and equestrian estates, Carole Ann focuses on the design aspects. Growing up in Aiken, she always respected the charm and history of the city. From layouts and floor plans, to decorating and styling, adding charm while preserving character is her goal. The two were actually married in a custom barn David built in Aiken County. Dogwood Construction was named after their first home which was located on Dogwood Road. With 3 young children, they know the importance of family, and strive to create a family friendly, stress free building experience.
