When you meet her, it’s clear that Ashlee Pfeiffer’s journey is deeply intertwined with the Boerne community. She’s a proud 1993 graduate of Boerne High School, and her husband’s family has been in the area since the 1800s. To her, it’s always been clear that Boerne would be home.

At Home in Boerne
After earning her degree, Pfeiffer took a temporary job at Kendall County Abstract Company (KCAC) before starting her planned career in finance. After a two-year stint in a corporate position in San Antonio, the offer of an office, an assistant, and the opportunity to train for leadership brought her back to KCAC. Understanding the importance of building a career within the community where she and her husband would raise their future children, Pfeiffer accepted.

In 2022, Pfeiffer and her husband, Rick, had the opportunity to carry on the legacy of dedication begun by KCAC’s previous owners, Gordon Holland and Mike and Laurie Lang. In fact, the chance to continue a business with such strong community ties was one they embraced enthusiastically. “I love helping my friends and neighbors through the real estate process,” Pfeiffer says of her work in the same office she started in 25 years ago, a symbol of her enduring commitment.

A Business Built on Relationships
At KCAC, customer service is the top priority. “I hope that by helping people buy their dream home, remodel the home they’ve lived in for years, or take a second lien to pay for college, I am in some small way giving back to this town that I love,” Pfeiffer says summarizing her approach. She often tells her clients she’ll see them around town, and she means it. Whether at a local event or a football game, these relationships extend beyond business.

KCAC’s commitment to Boerne has never wavered. Many team members grew up in the area, creating a deep-seated investment in the community. The company continues to operate on the values instilled by previous owners: “God, Family, Work.” This principle guides every decision, ensuring that integrity and community always come first.

Giving Back to Boerne
Pfeiffer is incredibly grateful for the opportunities she has had in our community, including being named “Businesswoman of the Year” by the Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce. “It is such an honor!” she says excitedly. “I think Kim and her team are amazing. When you look at what they do daily for this community, it is remarkable.”

Looking ahead, Pfeiffer hopes that KCAC will continue serving Boerne for another century. With a strong foundation, dedicated leadership, and a deep love for the community, she is confident in its future. Motivated by her husband, children, and mother, Pfeiffer remains committed to making a lasting impact in the place she proudly calls home.
