I am a photographer and have been taking pictures for decades. It is what I lovingly say, “I do.” It fulfills me in a way I cannot explain. Being in the flow state of creation transcends thought and explanation. When I discovered photography as a child, it was as if I had found a hidden reservoir of boundless energy and creation. Capturing images goes beyond superficial ideals of “you just push a button.” Photography truly resonates to the core of who I am.
At its essence, passion is an emotional compass guiding us toward our authentic selves. Whether it is art, science, literature or any pursuit that sets our souls ablaze, the act of engaging in something we are truly passionate about brings an unparalleled sense of joy and fulfillment. It is not merely about achieving success or recognition; rather, it's the journey itself that becomes a source of profound satisfaction.
In this feature are some of my favorite images I have taken through the years to exemplify my passion for creativity. I know they are all over the place as far as context, but creation comes in all forms of ways for me and photography. I've been through several phases and genres that intrigue me and keep me going. I love light—and dancing with it all my life has been a great adventure.
My passion is stopping time and creating lasting moments that have impact. I find it interesting to think that 1/100 of a second with the right passion behind can echo into eternity and be something that evokes emotion within the audience for years to come. I will keep stopping time and creating as long as I live. Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. It is an intrinsic connection with society that transcends a forgotten memory. It keeps alive a moment that could have otherwise been lost in the ethos of time.
